Wow, all your big words just kind of disappear when someone points out something so simple, eh? The logic is circular, you cannot deny it. Without miracles, the Virgin Birth, and the Resurrection, Jesus is just another one of those people whose stories even YOU discount. Like Mohammed. Like David Koresh. Like any of hundreds of people who have stepped up to say "There is a God and He wants you do listen to ME."

Nothing he said in the New Testament was particularly original or profound. Most of what he said was simply that the Jewish people should return to the covenant. The only thing that makes him different is the supernatural element. Problem is, the only place you find that is the Bible. So you believe the Bible because it tells you about God and you believe in God because it says to in the Bible. Circular.

It's not circular. It's "peer-reviewed."

Cheers!

Oh, *snap*. I almost forgot. Christianists are the illiterates, angrily rejecting that which is too complex for them to understand, relying instead upon simplicity.

As you said in post #11,

"...Children conclude that the creepy guy in the van just wants to give you candy. Children's logic is not something we should be holding up as a guide. But there is an element of truth here: we think there's a God because mankind, operating like a child, decided that SOMEONE must have made this place. After all... it's a quick, neat answer and you don't have to think anymore after that. "

As Rick Perry said in a debate once, "Oops."

Nothing he said in the New Testament was particularly original or profound.

Try Matthew 5.

(or the Obaama-appropriate version here, speaking of charismatic Pied Pipers.)

Mark 5:41.

Luke 7:14.

Or John 6:53, John 6:62, John 8:58, John 10:30.

No, nothing original at all.

Skeptic FAIL.

Cheers!

Au Contrare ... History ... based on actual happenings and the people that had seen and heard it. Josephus who wrote history and wrote during the period of the the apostles. The deaths of the apostles and they all claimed unto their death the gospel of Christ Jesus. Artifacts, and the dead sea scrolls were confirming of the events of Jesus Christ. Several books of the Holy Bible were written by the Apostles(the New Testament).

Life, the birth of a child. The system of life on earth, It has order. All would be chaos if not for the creator that created order ... the seed is in the fruit, all produce after their own kind. Man messes with all this.

We have eyes to see, the heavens, day, night, the cycles of the moon, the sun, and the stars. There is good. There is evil. Man has ever allowed evil to tempt him and separate him from good.

The evil one captures those that fail to see, with false deceit, he has started many copy religions and influences man to believe he(man) is right to do whatever is right in his own eyes.

To those that truly seek to know truth and are wanting to not be deceived, ... there are thousands of books written about God. Some pro, some con.

Read the book that God inspired himself to be written and learn of the way he instructs, guides us to live, and it is the good life! The HOLY BIBLE. God will come and be with you there, if you want to know truth and know Him.
