I supported Cain, and took my daughter to see him when he came through Alabama last month, and even got pictures. I even defended him against Gloria and the Bimbo accusers. Innocent until proven guilty.
However, giving money to a woman not your wife, and then not telling your wife, for more than a decade, mind you, shows very poor judgment, IMHO. Granted, he has been married for 40 years, but his "compassion" towards the other woman is misplaced, ill advised, and frankly stupid. It appears scandalous. I feel for his wife, and now expect more to come. And with his admission of secret financial support, I now have doubts about the veracity of his previous denials. He has lost me.
Voters dont like candidates with secret lives. It naturally makes them wonder what else he is keeping secret. Keeping a secret from your spouse who is supposed to be there in complete support just makes it even worse.
Voters dont like candidates who appear to be a soft touch. It is one thing to give someone a loan or even an outright gift, but to keep doing it many, many times for years and years makes you wonder why the candidate cant say no, which is what a friend really needs to hear.
Friends who asks for money over and over and over without paying it back are not actually friends, but sponges. It is hard to understand why someone would call them a friend, when clearly they are not. If you cant say no to a so-called friend, then how is this person going to say no to congress or some foreign leader or to special interest groups?
I suspect if Jesus would run for the office you’d reject Him, too. Whatever. I do not share your haste in judging another. This whole onslaught of innuendo against one who is willing to seve in our midst, albeit with weaknesses we all share, arises from the Accuser. He can bite me.
Don’t know why you’ve made up your mind so quickly, but it’s your mind. Have fun.
