It doesn’t make sense that it would be Democratic operatives. I don’t think such critters are stupid and the smart thing would have been to keep this one in the bag for now.

“It doesn’t make sense that it would be Democratic operatives.”

When you look at the ties these women have to the Democrat Party it is actually the only thing that DOES make sense.

Agreed. So, who has the most to gain by a scandal hitting just before the GOP caucuses and primaries begin? Mitt.

Don't be so presumptuous. Give credit where credit is due.

It doesn’t make sense that it would be Democratic operatives.

It is probably a combination of the GOP northeastern elitist establishment and the Obama team. Both have a reason to try to destroy Cain because neither wants the political status quo shaken up in favor of smaller government. And neither wants to see a GOP with possible mass appeal beyond caucasion suburbanites.

It may surprise you that the GOP establishment doesn't want a GOP with a mass appeal. If you lived in a state like Illinois, where the state GOP does everything it can to help the Democrats, you wouldn't be. Folks like Romney don't want to have to rub political shoulders with, and engage in political debate with, minorities or people who make less than a million a year.

At the same time, the msm have been pushing gingrich. I mentioned it before. 24/7 how gingrich was worth ‘another look’. Well, gingrich was the one who informed us that Reagan Conservatism was ‘dead’. Suddenly it’s alive again and HE is pushing it? Ummmm. No.
After romney, gingrich is the biggest establishment, politics as usual candidate out there...and Rasmussen now has him ahead of Cain.
Beware.

They have to take him out early.
They cannot risk not having the melanin based criticism shield that 0bama has being swept aside.

—It doesn’t make sense that it would be Democratic operatives. —

Actually, I used to agree with that, but it hit me as I read some other posts that if the dems REALLY do not want to fight Cain in the election, they may have strong incentive to ensure he doesn’t get past the primary.

The fact that this whole smear seems to come from Chicago amplifies the possibility, I believe.

One of the CNN infobabes tipped their hand when Bialek surfaced; saying something to the effect that “Cain may lose support when his ‘victim’ is revealed to be a blonde white woman”.

Gov. Sarah Palin and Mr. Herman Cain are an existential threat to the Left and the Democratic Party. That’s why the push to remove them both before they garner the Republican nomination. Did you think they attacked Gov. Palin 24/7 for three years because they didn’t like the way she talked?

I think you are wrong. It is perfect timing for the Democrat smear. It could be plausibly pinned on fellow GOP rivals, and it is imperative to knock him out before he secures the nomination.

If they waited until the general, it would have been obvious that it was a dem job. Furthermroe, he would be much harder to stop after gaining that momentum.

There’s good reasoning in what you say. But the political calculus is like chess; you have to try to perceive things as many moves ahead as possible. Obama’s people may have figured that, among the Republican field, they’d like to go up against anyone but Cain. As many have noted, Romney is perfect because he is despised by the conservative base, cancelling out Obama’s weak standing with the leftist base, and he is neutered on the Obamacare issue by RomneyCare.

On the other hand, Cain may be the guy they fear the most. He’s black, so they have a hard time with the race card. He’s a businessman, so he can talk circles around Obama in terms of real world economics and job creation. He’s tough as nails, so he won’t go mushy under attack by the Chicago machine, he’ll fight back and the public will see David standing courageously up against this corrupt Goliath.

In these terms, one might see that Obama’s best play was to eliminate Cain before he could grab the nomination, because once he’s nominated, Obama is in a helluva fight that not even an October sexual harassment surprise could win. If I’m right, their internal polling and focus group data must be showing them that Cain is very dangerous indeed, which is good news for fans of the Hermanator.

It makes perfect sense. The Obama camp is salivating at the thought of Romney being the GOP nominee. After Perry's implosion, all they needed to do was destroy Cain, and in their mindset, they would have the election settled a year early.

You need help. Democrats are extremely stupid. Once you know their game, they are nothing but sad little pond scum.

Saul Alinsky has has been effectively Alinskyed.

I like it.

It makes perfect sense to me. The Dems are terrified of Cain because his nomination would take the race card right out of their hands. Further, they think Republicans are as racist as they. Throwing a few accusations around was supposed to knock Cain out of contention with no questions asked.

Oh yes, it does. Obama's whole MO is to take out the opposition before an election. He did it first with Alice Palmer, his opponent in the race of the Ill. senate by disqualifying her petitions. When he ran for the U. S. Senate his allies dug up "sealed" divorce papers involving his DemonRat primary opponent, forcing that man out. Finally, to ice the cake, they did the same thing to Jerry Ryan, his opponent in the general election.

They want leave us with nobody but Mittens and are trying to bump off every one of his conservative opponents before the primaries.
