Exclusive: Two women accused Cain of inappropriate behavior By: Jonathan Martin and Maggie Haberman and Anna Palmer and Kenneth P. Vogel October 30, 2011 08:00 PM EDT
During Herman Cains tenure as the head of the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s, at least two female employees complained to colleagues and senior association officials about inappropriate behavior by Cain, ultimately leaving their jobs at the trade group, multiple sources confirm to POLITICO.
The women complained of sexually suggestive behavior by Cain that made them angry and uncomfortable, the sources said, and they signed agreements with the restaurant group that gave them financial payouts to leave the association. The agreements also included language that bars the women from talking about their departures.
In a series of comments over the past 10 days, Cain and his campaign repeatedly declined to respond directly about whether he ever faced allegations of sexual harassment at the restaurant association. They have also declined to address questions about specific reporting confirming that there were financial settlements in two cases in which women leveled complaints.
POLITICO has confirmed the identities of the two female restaurant association employees who complained about Cain but, for privacy concerns, is not publishing their names.
Cain spokesman J.D. Gordon told POLITICO the candidate indicated to campaign officials that he was vaguely familiar with the charges and that the restaurant associations general counsel had resolved the matter.

Newt was a big help by having an open affair with wife #3 for 5 years.
Shouldn’t bother the libs who have a hero in an impeached rapist and sexual predator.
Didn’t take the left long to find a couple of Anita Hills : )
They are and they are getting desparate.
The NRA is in control of this thing, there is a settlement where it is sealed. Most likely, there is insurance on the members of the NRA that covers this stuff.
I agree. We’ve been warned this was coming. I think we’ll have our answer if a certain candidate’s supporters starts repeating this tripe (along with all the other lies) on future FR threads.
Not exactly. But that’s not the subject of this thread.
Cain responds to sex harassment allegation
Who did not see this coming?
In this case, they'll probably claim pubic hairs on a pepperoni pizza.
This is disgusting. Knowing how these scumbags work, this is the first drip of many to come.
How many have come forward with child supported by campaign funds?
For a party with a heavy duty proven record of this kind of behavior, I sense a serious case of cognitive dissonance.
Go Herman! Keep speaking the truth!

You’re giving Rove way too much credit - I don’t think he really would gone to that much effort, because I don’t think it’s likely that Cain would get the top slot anyway. And while Rove may prefer another candidate (I’m not sure which one), I don’t think he really cares that much personally.
I would suspect this is the usual Dem attack. Last week, they tried to say Cain wasn’t “really” black, and now they’re going to try to stir up women against him. He’s not even my favorite candidate, but I think this is plain ridiculous, and unless (God forbid) some evidence emerges, I think it won’t go beyond tomorrow’s news cycle.
However, as one of the Dem harpies said, it’s not the truthfulness of the charge that matters, it’s the seriousness of the charge. In other words, that’s what sticks in people’s minds.
Of course, if a Dem did something like that, even if there were 20 women lined up in a row with signed affadavits, nobody would care.
Sounds to me like another reason to vote for Cain. If the libs are so scared that they had to dig up a couple of paid whores, then he must be better than I thought.
Yikes! If Perry truly believes that, he is seriously deluded.
yep, makes me like Cain even more!
The harder they go after him, the more of a threat they show to me that he is to them.
GO CAIN !
He's polling at 6%, a result of his horrendous debate performances and he still thinks he can Handle Obama in a Debate.
Yes, Rick Perry is delusional.
