Rumors swirling in DC that Obama is already collecting Americans'private health records

The Obama administration adamantly denies it, but rumors are circulating in Washington that his Department of Health and Human Services is already collecting Americans’ private health information, or at least preparing itself to do so.

Rep. Denny Rehberg, the chairman of the House appropriations subcommittee on Labor, Health & Human Services and Education formalized the rumors by asking about them in a letter to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius on Thursday.

“Specifically, I have been told that HHS has already procured a contractor to build a database and that this contractor has already taken steps to acquire personal health care data from a large claims database,” Rehberg wrote. “I would like to know if these reports are, in fact, true. If so, it would represent an egregious violation of the privacy rights that the American public rightfully demands.”

Ha! Unlike my hypochondriacal, Medicare-loving relatives, I haven’t been to a doctor in 30 years! Try hunting my records down, fools!

(I know, I know, I may be dead in 5 years but I go with a smile having beat the commie rats in Washington.)

We've got some serious altering and abolishing to do with this out-of-control government.

Everyone that has had a recent doc visit should know that. Everything is entered by computer now.

So, have you ever thought you might be suffering from depression? Ever worried if your alcohol use may be out of control? Don’t confide in your doctor seeking advice anymore. Not if you ever want a gun permit or don’t want to find yourself on a multitude of other similar “watch” lists.

Well, we wouldn’t want death panels to operate blind, would we?

And here I thought those emanations of the penumbras granted me a right to privacy. Hmm, guess not.

Let the outlawing of abortion begin!

From a practical basis, there’s no way a project of this size could be carried out in secret. There are way too many people required.

If Obama and Sebelius are doing it, we’ll know. Not everybody working for the govt is a fellow traveler.

You know, a couple of months ago I thought you were being...paranoid!! Not anymore. I’m watching the Chicago thug manipulating the NYC “occupiers” and am figuring out how naive I’ve been.

From a practical basis, there’s no way a project of this size could be carried out in secret.

And there's no way a person could run for President, and get elected, without proving his qualifications as a Natural Born Citizen.

And there's no way the government could monitor every phone call that goes through satellite using massive computers that scan the text for keywords.

And there's no way that an elected President could skip presenting a BUDGET within his/her first few months in office.

And there's no way a President could just hire 'czars', at our expense, for silly and useless positions.

I could go on, but I hope you understand that our elected officials have put themselves ABOVE THE LAW for years and years, and they don't plan to stop.

I’m not saying they can’t do it.

I am saying we’ll know about it.

It would actually be quite easy to do and it will/has already started with Medicare patients and electronic medical records. Chart notes would be included with the billing which already contains a diagnosis code and all demographic info for patient and doctor. Docs either submit all the info or they don’t get paid. Easy to transition to commercial insurance. Commercial carriers have been monitoring drug prescriptions for some time.

I’ve yet to have a doctor solve any ailment.

An aquaintance, who voted for Hussein and never pay their bills, signed up for free meds and has gotten nearly $10k already this month and is trying to get on disability so I expect them to work long enough to get unemployment and then file for SSI. They and another aquaintance already on SSI always seem to go everywhere and blow money left and right. Another guy has a handicapped motorcycle tag despite the fact his job requires him to be physically fit. Obviously, I’m doing something wrong.

Same here. I can’t remember the last time I went to the doctor. I guess I’ll be dying with a smile right along with ya!

The last time I went to a doctor for actually being sick was Easter of 1973.

Son a a bitch damn near killed me. I figure if I'm going to die I don't need to pay somebody to help me do it.

I have a great internist who hates the government. I pay her cash for my visits. She does keep progress notes but they are handwritten on a log sheet which I have in my possession. Told her she could retire after I die.
