CARSON CITY, Nev. — A gunman wielding an AK-47 opened fire on a table of uniformed National Guard members at an IHOP restaurant on Tuesday in an outburst of violence that killed five people, wounded seven others and put Nevada's capital city on high alert.
Five Nevada National Guard troops sitting together at the back of the restaurant were shot — three of them fatally. Another woman was also killed, and the gunman, 32-year-old Eduardo Sencion of Carson City, shot himself in the head and died at a hospital.
Obviously the perp is a right wing tea party conservative who was inflamed beyond reason by Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin. Time to bring civility back into our political discourse.
I have already been on the phone three times to newsrooms cautioning them on the “AK-47 automatic weapon” / “AK-47 assault weapon” crap.
1. Where does a man on social security disability get the money to buy an ak47?
2. Why does a man on social security disability work at a family business? What is that business?
3. Why does a Mexican with a US passport have a family with a business in the US wherein he works despite collecting social security disability?
4. Why did the AK47 target National Guardsmen (no longer any denying it. The guardsmen in one area (3 of 5?) were the major group among those killed.
Sencion was born in Mexico and had a valid U.S. passport. In interviews with investigators after the shooting, his family raised concerns about his mental health, Furlong said. Sencion worked at his family's business in South Lake Tahoe and had no criminal history. The minivan he drove to the shooting was registered to his brother.The shooting shocked some who knew him, including Joe Laub, his lawyer in a bankruptcy filing in January 2009, who called it an "aberration of his character."
"He's a gentle, kind man who was very helpful to friends and family," Laub told The Associated Press. "I couldn't venture to guess what would cause him to do something as horrible as this."
In the bankruptcy filing, Sencion listed more than $42,000 in outstanding debts for a car, several credit cards and some medical expenses. At the time, Sencion reported having $200 spread over three bank accounts and $923 in disability income, mostly from Social Security.
I had not heard the shooter’s political views. Everything is not political. Some people are just seriously mentally ill.
Perhaps he was a part-time truck driver inflamed by Jimmy Hoffa Jr who thought Guardsmen were automatically members of the Tea Party.

Why assume the Associated Press tells us the whole truth and nothing but the truth?
He’s a Mexican on a US passport, who has filed bankruptcy, who collects appox $950 a month in social security disability, who has an AK47 (a soviet-style weapon), whose family owns an unknown business, whose normal name is eduardo sencion, and who targeted national guardsmen before committing suicide.

Here’s another reasonable question, at least to my mind: How do we know the perp was, in fact, naturalized?
Don't know the guys Dx, but Paranoid Personality Disorder used to be more commonly diagnosed in immigrants.
And if he wasn’t naturalized, how the heck did he get a US passport?
There has been a serious news blackout on this matter since the press conference yesterday afternoon. No commentary on any news site nor most all blogs.
This by itself concerns me a great deal because the undercurrents here say something is amiss. Either the guy is somekind of nut, some kind of moocher on SSDI, some kind of fifth columnist, some kind of meth head, someone anti military or someone who went off due to extreme commentary by the left. What is it and why do we not have a hint to the correct answer.

That’s an odd way of saying US citizen, so my evaluation was that he was not. If the he AP knows he is a US citizen, they’d be among the first to say that directly.
