As Palin remains unannounced about whether she will run, powerful GOP members outside the beltway say they don't want her in the race.
The theatrics and confusion over Sarah Palin's upcoming schedule probably won't help her standing with Republican activists in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, who already overwhelmingly prefer that she not run for president in 2012, according to a survey conducted this past week by The Huffington Post and Patch in the early primary and caucus states.
Palin had previously announced plans to appear at a Tea Party rally in Indianola, Iowa, on Saturday, but that has been put "on hold," according to organizers. Separately, Palin announced new plans to speak to another Tea Party rally in New Hampshire on Labor Day.
Iowa's Tea Party of America announced later today that Palin had reconfirmed and will be in Indianola on Saturday.
Last week, our HuffPost-Patch Power Outsiders poll of influential Republicans in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina found two thirds satisfied with the current crop of candidates and only 8 percent offering Palin when asked who else they would like to see run in a follow-up question.
Power Outsiders is a Patch-Huffington Post project that surveys influential Republicans in the early voting states of Iowa, New Hampshir
Yeh, and she worked and paid for it.
Welcome back, pissant!
What do you have against religion?...This country was founded by Christians (Founding Fathers). I know that and I’m a foreign born.
AND, Governor Sarah Palin has more brain than, Obama, Clinton put together.
Be careful who you call idiot. Go check the bible and see what Jesus says about it.
Hint, you're not the squirrel.
What are you talking about? Those posts clearly indicate that he’s the Niccolo Machiavelli of Free Republic.
The truth is that he alienates the very voters Perry needs. That's not genius.
What do you mean she didn’t achieve anything in academia? Are there certain academic credentials every candidate should have? Does that mean someone who doesn’t have a college degree wouldn’t make a great president? That would probably eliminate anyone who, like my son, chose a military career over college.
Who’s coaching Palin about economics and what has she said that gives you that clue?
Why do you say she has no experience in foreign policy? How many candidates do at this point? It’s one thing to travel to foreign countries (0bama lived in Indonesia which theoretically gives him experience but that hasn’t worked out so well, has it) and another to meet & negotiate with foreign leaders.
I’m not even going address the quitting issue. It’s been explained over and over. If you don’t understand her reasons (whether you agree or not) it’s just not worth rehashing.
What wars are you referring to? There isn’t a mother on the planet with a son who is/has served who likes war. That doesn’t mean some aren’t necessary. What has she said about war that lead you do believe she loves war?
How do the bankers benefit from war? Usually people who object to war cite the military industrial complex. Has that changed?
What religious belief does Palin have that makes Palin’s support of Israel more dangerous than any other president we’ve had prior (except for the current occupant)? This country supports Israel for reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with either country’s faith. What has she said that has led you to believe she wants some kind of Holy war?
Palin may be a lot of things but even people that don’t support her don’t think she’s a neocon (well maybe the Kos Kids and DUmmies). That’s a new one on me!
Cindie
“Palin is coming, and the TEA Party is coming with her.”
Amen to that.
Title of article should read “RINOs fear Palin”.
We surround them, and they know it.
Run, Sarah, Run!
Is that thunder I hear?
I mean, let's be fair to the guy.
;^)
“.....complete idiot as far as foreign policy goes.....”
I believe that Sarah Palin is the only (soon to be) candidate that gets invited by various foreign countries to speak at their political events, because, even if you won’t, they recoginize Sarah as a major force in US politics/world politics.
Squid???? Say isn’t that an invertibrate that spews ink when it’s scared? Your screen name was well chosen...... Run along now little fish before a big fish comes along and devours you.....ink and all........
Sean Hannity put that question to a pro-Republican crowd of regular folks in Ames, Iowa:
Sean Hannity in Ames, Iowa asks, "Do You Want Sarah Palin To Enter The Presidential Race?"
“I saw Connally on the presidential campaign trail in Birmingham. Walked away feeling like I needed a shower. A mean spirited, vile man...”
I actually spoke with the man personally once or twice and worked for his campaigns against Smilin’ Ralph who was trying to take over the mechanisms of the party. I found him to be an honest and congenial man and a solid conservative so I disagree with your personal analysis of him, but to be sure, he was no Ronald Reagan.
You failed to back up your comments “mean spirited, vile man”. And you failed to describe your plan B if Sarah doesn’t run.
You’ve been freeping for a long time but I see a zot in your future. Best stop the baiting.
I just don’t know how you do it. Your posting history reveals you are quite the pious one, except for when you are insulting your opponents for their lack of intelligence, which is most of the time. What I don’t understand about it is how you can labor so hard at a proper understanding of the covenants, yet you blissfully ignore the weightier matters of Christian life, such as loving one’s enemies, speaking truth in love, loving justice, and speaking with grace. As another here has already reminded you, Jesus specifically instructs us against calling one another fools. You decry war but you plant the seeds of war with your senseless insults. You revile Palin as somehow less than Christian for believing God still cares for Israel in their unbelief (see Romans 11), yet you resort to the markedly unchristian practice of using false accusation and slander to diminish her.
For example, her intelligence has been objectively verified and even admitted by her opponents. She was an honors student in high school, she was recently praised by one of her college professors as one the best student writers he ever taught, and her prowess as Alaska’s governor was put on display for all the world to see in those 24,000 emails recently released. My dad was a professional educator for over 40 years, and he worked with the very bright and the very dull and all the rest of us in between, and he would often tell me that one of the surest guides to true general intelligence was language capacity. Palin has it, and it is simply not honest to borrow untrue leftist slanders to the contrary as a means of diminishing her.
The “quitter” meme is also a false accusation, if somewhat more subtle. It is an implied attack on her character without a factual justification. My good friends here on FR too often respond to the charge by immediately listing the valid reasons for her resignation. But its really the premise that’s the problem. If you quit smoking, are you a quitter? Sure you are, and a good thing, too. Have you ever quit a job? More than once? Doesn’t that make you a quitter too? Or does it sound different when applied to you? Why? Because you no doubt had good reason to quit what you quit. Or not. But Palin isn’t allowed to show her reasons. You are, but she isn’t. You know what the Biblical word is for double standard? Hypocrisy. What does your version of the Bible teach about God’s opinion of hypocrites? Because in my version, it gets pretty ugly.
One more thought before I go. Our word Devil comes from the Greek word diabolos. You know what that means in English? To slander. Put that in your conservative good ol boy pipe and smoke on it for a while, if you catch my drift.
Wow! Beautiful post!
