As Palin remains unannounced about whether she will run, powerful GOP members outside the beltway say they don't want her in the race.
The theatrics and confusion over Sarah Palin's upcoming schedule probably won't help her standing with Republican activists in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, who already overwhelmingly prefer that she not run for president in 2012, according to a survey conducted this past week by The Huffington Post and Patch in the early primary and caucus states.
Palin had previously announced plans to appear at a Tea Party rally in Indianola, Iowa, on Saturday, but that has been put "on hold," according to organizers. Separately, Palin announced new plans to speak to another Tea Party rally in New Hampshire on Labor Day.
Iowa's Tea Party of America announced later today that Palin had reconfirmed and will be in Indianola on Saturday.
Last week, our HuffPost-Patch Power Outsiders poll of influential Republicans in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina found two thirds satisfied with the current crop of candidates and only 8 percent offering Palin when asked who else they would like to see run in a follow-up question.
Power Outsiders is a Patch-Huffington Post project that surveys influential Republicans in the early voting states of Iowa, New Hampshir
Do you have any EVIDENCE to support that claim?
ROTFL!! Does kinda diminish the force of his argument.
She got her four year degree in four and a half years, not bad against a five and a half year average nation wide.
Twenty years political experience and ten of those years in an executive position.
Her position papers put her way out in front of Obama and the pundits.
So what rock have you been hiding under SQUID?
What's with the hatred of Michele Bachmann at Free Republic?

What's with the hatred of Michele Bachmann at Free Republic lately?
I've seen some psychotic paranoid drivel about her secretly working for Mitt Romney, but apparently there's more to it than that.
Please help me out here, folks.
Um, who do you support? Sarah Palin is the best candidate we have. Blow it out...
2) She doesnt even know what the roll of the VP is
3) She was an idiot in school
4) She is an idiot in economics
5) She has to be coached in all talking points
6) She quit!
7) She thinks we are doing Gods work whenever we go to war = theologically bankrupt.....
Now perhaps you can tell me why she would be so great for this country?
That's so scummy. What makes you say such mean things about a Republican candidate? I'm sure she's much more intelligent than you are if you have to throw barbs like these. I know I'm much more intelligent than you are.
I care about my country first. She is not the best for my country. I want the best and brightest. She is simply not the best and brightest. Simple as that. I don't care how the wind blows. I follow my own path and she is not on it.
Hell, I think McCain is an idiot too. We have had pathetic picks from the electorate time after time and I'm damn tired of it. It's time to stand up and demand somebody who is not coached and designed by political advisers.
Again with the personal attacks. You need to get some anger management help. It seems the 1st amendment isn’t your thing. Most people like and welcome the free exchange of ideas without resorting to pathetic personal attacks.
That just shows how weak your position is. Anyway, moving on.....
So, poor old Mr. Schwartz aka “Soros” has no target now? Makes great sense. Well, thank God that’s been taken care of.
Four year degree in? Journalism! Yaay! Wow that’s very tough. Never mind Jindal who finished magna cum lade in Law.
Position paper? tell me about it. Why is it so great?
Look, I agree with her on most things in terms of life and family, but there are some serious cracks in her foreign policy and foreign policy can bankrupt a nation which we are well on the way to doing.
We are not friends and your attacks on Sarah were slimy and completely uncalled for. What prompts you to call her dumb?
That's your call. Just let me know. I've always been a loyal pro-Life, pro-God, pro-Gun, pro-Family, pro-Marriage, pro-fiscal sanity, pro-America, pro-Military conservative.
Sarah Palin is not the only conservative candidate in this campaign. (And she still hasn't announced.)
because she IS dumb my friend. :-))
You post like some teenager who hijacked their parents Free Republic account.
....and yes, when people are short of intellectual power and pretend that they are so right I say so. I'm not politically correct like you. You don't like it? Tough shite. That doesn't make me wrong. You have to prove me wrong another way sensitive genius.
PALIN DOES NOT represent Christianity because her version which seems to be your version too will have no problems spilling American blood for Israel because she sees it as God's work. This is not Christianity nor is it America. There is no such thing as dual covenant PERIOD. Explain to me why this must be done. Lets not pretend.
I don't give a damn about Israel nor any other self centered theocracy! Tell me why I must? America is not a theocracy! Do you get that? Put this in stone. I care about America! America only! Israel is a religious state created for the sole purpose of a specific religion. If people think Israel needs to be expanded, exalted or worshiped by America in order for the second coming of Christ to take place they are crazy because this is what all this crap is all about.
SQUID, I didn’t want to “get something on you.” Thats just your paranoia talking. I wanted to understand you, and I wanted you to know I was trying to understand you. You were making some odd statements and I wanted to know who you were so I could communicate with you effectively. Based on your entirely too hostile response, I see I have utterly failed in that mission. So be it.
But for the record, I have no choice but to correct you on a few things
1) Your charge of political correctness against me and those like me is patently false. “Political correctness” is an invention of the left used to exert indirect mind control, with a view to intimidating everybody into conforming to the mental rules set by the left. If you would study my past posts, you would know your charge against me in that regard is blatantly false. I do not seek a fight, but I do not wear the tin hat the left wants me to wear. I am a conservative, both politically and theologically, and neither of those is politically correct.
But as you said, you don’t care. Facts about me are irrelevant to your opinion of me. I get it. That’s fine. That’s your choice. I, however, find facts quite helpful.
2) For example, your charge that Palin would spend American blood for anything less than genuine American interests is false. I have studied Palins beliefs about war and I do not find evidence of the blood lust of which you accuse her. In fact, she has openly rejected neocon advisors held over from her McCain days and has taken on foreign policy advisors that come from the geopolitical realism school of thought. Very pragmatic, and very much driven by purely American interests. It is within that very disciplined context she still believes we should be friends with Israel.
Nevertheless, as a Christian, she also believes Israel still holds a place in God’s plan. Whereupon you immediately charge her falsely with being a theocrat. I say falsely, because you have offered no evidence whatsoever that she would use theocratic principles to determine US policy for any given situation involving Israel, even though I have offered you Apostolic evidence (Romans 11) that she has a theological leg to stand on in personally believing God still cares for Israel. Yet you dismiss that evidence as though I never even said it, as if it doesnt exist. Very well. Once again, I get that actual facts, even Biblical facts, are of no real interest to you if they interfere with arriving at your preordained conclusions. Fine.
3) Furthermore, you falsely charge me and mine of worshipping Israel. What does that mean? Do I pray to Israel? I do not. Do I regard Israel as equal or greater authority in my life than the Almighty? I do not. Neither I nor anyone I know “worships” Israel. Divine worship is reserved for God alone, all else is idolatry. But you, by recklessly charging us with this crime against God, are laying out a false charge of idolatry that you cannot support with facts, because only God has access to the central fact, what is the true condition of our heart toward Him. You are not God, and you are in no position to make such a charge, and it would be to your great personal, spiritual benefit to acknowledge that fact.
4) Finally, no one I know, apart from certain “Latter Day Rain” specialists (whom I reject), believes that anything we do alters the timing or the plan of God with respect to the Second Coming. We treat Israel well because, at least in part, we believe that’s what God wants us to do. God has always known when and under what conditions Jesus was coming back. We do not influence that. God does as he wants among the inhabitants of the earth, and no one can stop his hand, or ask him, “What are you doing.” So your notion that we are somehow influencers of all that is a non-sequitur to me, and to most conservative Christians; frankly, its just another false charge youve concocted against people who have put their faith in God and his word.
So bottom line, what we have here is a failure to communicate. Your only interest seems to be to bring as many false charges against good, godly, conservative Christians as you can, and hope that no one notices you yourself are in open violation of the divine commandment:
“Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.” See Exodus 20:16.
Now you could set all that right, if you just showed a little interest in the facts. I’m open to further discussion. But I will not be holding my breath while I wait. Do as you see fit.
Peace,
SR
I see reports of her doubling up Romney’s Labor Day weekend crowd in New Hampshire, and I say they may very well not have any input into the matter.
You studied Palin’s beliefs? So have I. I know and understand her radical theology. What I have said about her is from her own words out of her own mouth and she does not represent Christians as a whole. I guarantee it. Explain to me the realism school of foreign policy?
“Purely American interests” doesn't mean at all that we MUST be friends with Israel. Explain that one to me with your facts. Please At what cost? The lives of our American servicemen?
Palin is a radical Christian, please don't address her as if she represents all of Christianity. Wasilla Assembly of God is Pentecostalism, a form of Christianity that has shaped her mind over the years to favor apocalyptic prophecies. So when she said we are doing God's work in Iraq how does she know? What does she mean? Where in the bible would the war in Iraq be considered God's work? How is it God's work? Why does she refer to God when discussing foreign policy in the Mideast? Why is Iraq God's work and not Rwanda or Sudan?
You can't have it both ways in saying she does not allow her theological beliefs to influence her policies and yet say she believes God still cares for Israel.
You can site all you wish, the simple fact is if Jews were indeed God's chosen people still then there would be no need for Him to send His Son to a people that are not lost at all and are saved already by virtue of their choosiness.
You make no sense. One can't have a dual covenant. Simple as that. That is invented theology. When you tell a Jew that he does not need to accept Christ as his savior in order to be saved you are saying far worse than anything I have ever written in here.
You said we treat Israel well because that's what God wants us to do. Is that not theology in foreign policy?
You are not representative of all Christians. You are a small group of people who have formulated your own version of Christianity. A fringe.
Christ is the truth, the light and the way Period! One’s ancestry does not provide salvation. You can't be your own Messiah
Interesting way you have of making an argument. I never said I believe or that Palin believes in a dual covenant, because honestly, this is the first Ive heard of such a thing. I went to Moody back in the 70s, and I was a Jewish Studies major at the time. I can read some Hebrew, and I can walk an inquirer through many of the wonderful messianic prophecies and their fulfillment in Jesus Christ. I and my fellow JS majors were deeply invested in bringing the Gospel of Messiah Jesus to the people of Israel. And in all the years from then till now I have never wavered in my belief that what Jesus said was true in his day and remains true through to today, that no one comes to the Father except by Jesus.
So our real problem is this. You are willing to dump false accusations on people whose belief systems you dont even understand, let alone disagree with. This makes for very difficult dialogue, because I will never know if you are attacking the real me (or Sarah) or some false caricature of me youve created in your own imagination. Right now it looks like the latter, and I have no hope of mounting a defense over a version of me that isnt real.
So let me propose the following.
1) You tell me what your faith tradition is, so I know what you mean by dual covenant. We need to at least agree on what are the basic facts at the bottom of our dispute.
2) You stop accusing me and Sarah of claiming to represent all Christians. Thats a straw man. Neither she nor I ever claimed to represent all Christians, though I suspect we are less of a minority than you are suggesting, if only because I think you really dont get who we are yet.
3) Stop making arguments that begin and end in your own mind. How about you make like a Berean and dress up your logic with at least a little Scripture to make your point. Your logic has no authority over me. As a believer, I am subject to the Word of God, not the Word of SQUID. If God has revealed some things that challenge my logic (and he has), I am resolved that God is smarter than I am, and though I may not get how certain things could be, if he says thus and such, then that is what is true, even if it goes above my pay grade to fully understand it.
4) In light of point 3, I am still waiting to hear how you process Romans 11, which I have mentioned in each of the last few exchanges between us, but to which you have formed no response. Paul is writing specifically about national Israels relationship to God and the Church subsequent to the first coming of Messiah Jesus, and I would think if you had a well-developed apologetic for your dual-covenant nonsense that accounted for that passage, you would have played it by now. I am puzzled that you havent, and I really want to know what you think of that whole passage. It is critical to this discussion, and I think you will understand if I insist you make your argument under the authority of that and any other relevant Scripture, lest I be duped into exchanging my Scriptural views for some inferior and misleading human invention.
Your serve.
