Israel Radio has just reported that Muammar Gadhafi has fled and the city of Tripoli has fallen. More to follow.
What happens next remains to be seen.
UPDATE 11:54 PM
Here's a report and video from Sky News which has a reporter embedded with the rebels:
Sky's special correspondent Alex Crawford, accompanying the rebels, said the opposition fighters were greeted with scenes of jubilation as they made their way through the outskirts of the capital.
As they entered the city, their cars gridlocked the roads, she said, and hundreds of people came out onto the streets to greet them.
The rebels responded with celebratory gunfire, she said.
"We are now just a very short distance from the centre, with more and more people coming onto the streets.
"They (the rebels) had been expecting much more resistance but there has been very little."

You’re kind of a “casual” news viewer aren’t you?
Gaddafi is giving another speech.
If nothing else, he’s trying to bore them into submission.
This speech may go on for days.
Yes, it’s a definite win for the Muslim Brotherhood!
Might as well face it.
You’re addicted to love.
Time will tell how the people take advantage of this change of power, but they are at least free to change.
Does he use a teleprompter?
What we’re seeing now in Egypt, doesn’t give me too much hope.
Or more likely a lawyers’ ‘dead’ as in cannot execute oil leases or contracts. Cuz his fingers broke.
Once that happens the war for Western Civilization will begin. And it will get very ugly, very quickly.
Mark
the rebels are much worse, full of moslem Bros and al Qaeda. Just like Egypt got worse so will Libya. Let the Frebch fix it
Teleprompter?
Nah. He’s extemporaneous — and can do so for hours.

English Al Jeezera confirms two sons captured.
They are now reporting that the third son has also turned himself in as well as the female colonel of Gaddafi’s guard.
Been really busy lately...but no, I am a bit of a news junkie. I am hoping for the best...Qaddafi was a bad guy...there are bad characters in the rebel forces too...but not all. I am happy to see a tyrant over thrown! He was using some heavy duty weapons against unarmed protestors in the beginning. I hope the decent ones can dominate and I will hope for the best. What about Asad? Should he not fall too because there are radicals involved in the protest movement there also?
Kinda my thoughts, too. Now Iran has another ally and another base of operations.
Do you know how many are from the brotherhood and how many are real Libyans who want their nation back? No, I don’t think any of us do.
Why don’t you tell me the inside scoop of what I do not know??
