Today, as irrelevant as my opinion may be in the scheme of things, I'd like to STATE my endorsement of a Presidential Candidate for 2012. Barack Obama!...just kidding! I'm here to state my full support for Rick Perry's 2012 Presidential run. I can already hear the mental screams at me, "neo-con!" "RINO!" "sellout!" "globalist!" and so on. I gladly accept your insults, and I'd like to now refute some claims about Rick Perry, and lay out the undeniable case for his presidency.
First issues first. I hear this whine constantly about Perry, "he served on Al Gore's presidential campaign!" Whine, whine, whine. You people need a lotta cheese with that whine to shut you up. Regarding this situation, let's remember first, Al Gore, and Perry were conservative Democrats back then. You need to remember, the Democrat party isn't always so liberal and nutso. Those two were anti-federal funding of abortion, pro-gun, less taxes, etc. Al Gore changed into a looney later. Furthermore, Reagan was once a Democrat, but he changed because of his wife. 'Nuff said my friends.
The most important aspects of Rick Perry come in his state's economic record. Rick Perry has transformed Texas into the financial behemoth California used to be. It's been voted the #1 business climate for seven years (7/10 of Perry's years). The state produces more jobs than anyone else. Perry must be doing something right. The chief of a state can't be so politically skewed and still run a booming state.

A positive article about Perry ? On FR ? Are you nuts ?
I’ve met plenty of conservative Democrats. I’ve met Al Gore. The intersection of the two is an empty set.
“Rick Perry is true to conservative principles even when others think the party needs to go a different direction.”~From a Letter from Palin to the Women of Texas, 2009
“He does what is right regardless of whether it is popular. He walks the way of a true conservative.”~ From same above letter.
Sure to send some into fits....
Am I the only one surprised that it’s ben 48 hours since Perry announced his candidacy, and we wtill haven’t had ONE thread devoted to Aggie jokes..
“Sure to send some into fits....”
It’ll also fit into some...
Your are RIGHT...let the flamers begin...who cares...bottom line for Americans today are jobs and the economy...anything else is a whole bunch of smoke screens...or all smoke and mirrors...Rick Perry does have a great record on jobs and the economy...what can be sweeter than that...
Perry snuggling up with Muslims killed it for me. No way will I support anyone who thinks Islam with its Sharia law is something that can be tolerated in the US.
Meh, he is slightly better than McCain was last election, and Obama was far more popular then.....
So while me may very will, I will wear a clothes pin on my nose to vote for perry.
Don’t let Perry fool you. He is an opportunist and a fake who would love to steal Tea Party votes. But he’s George Bush warmed over. He is an empty-shirt. Milquetoast. He will not take risks. He would not fight hard for the Tea Party causes. He is an Establishment Republican who would kill the Tea Party if he wins.
Just look what has happened here on Free Republic. No one has attacked Sarah Palin, Ron Paul, Michele Bachmann and the Tea Party as viciously as the Rick Perry group has. They remind me of The Left with their smear tactics and name-calling.
THE TEA PARTY MUST REJECT RICK PERRY!
.
Well my man...like they, “go big, or go home.” Way to Cowboy up! Get ready....welcome to FR.
Yeah, but...
If it comes down to Saint Rick, or the Naked Emperor, Dear Leader 0bama - I’d take a Saint Rick with a TEA Party majority in congress.
RICK PERRY WOULD GUARANTEE AN OBAMA RE-ELECTION!

Who cares and who asked who you endorse?
“He is an Establishment Republican”
The “establishment republicans” don’t like him. If he is one of them, why do they dislike him so much?
I consider Rick to be largely about Rick. That said, he has at least 80% of good things going for him.
If that is all I get each step of the way, I’m happy for the time. There were things Reagan did that
I disagreed with - like granting amnesty to illegals. Like trading tax increases for spending cuts
that didn’t materialize.
If it comes down to Rick or Michelle, I’d pick Rick because I think he has a better chance in the
general election. If it comes to Rick or Michelle against the marxist, I’ll pick either of them over
Obama.
95% of the jobs created in Texas in 2009 - PUBLIC SECTOR.
I’ll bet you’re a blast at parties.
I would take another George Bush over what we have now in Obama. I like Perry, I also like Palin, Perry can beat Obama, Palin most likely cannot.
ANYBODY BUT OBAMA 2012
