I Endorse...
The Band Of Patriots ^ | August 15th, 2011 | Matthew Monos

Today, as irrelevant as my opinion may be in the scheme of things, I'd like to STATE my endorsement of a Presidential Candidate for 2012. Barack Obama!...just kidding! I'm here to state my full support for Rick Perry's 2012 Presidential run. I can already hear the mental screams at me, "neo-con!" "RINO!" "sellout!" "globalist!" and so on. I gladly accept your insults, and I'd like to now refute some claims about Rick Perry, and lay out the undeniable case for his presidency.

First issues first. I hear this whine constantly about Perry, "he served on Al Gore's presidential campaign!" Whine, whine, whine. You people need a lotta cheese with that whine to shut you up. Regarding this situation, let's remember first, Al Gore, and Perry were conservative Democrats back then. You need to remember, the Democrat party isn't always so liberal and nutso. Those two were anti-federal funding of abortion, pro-gun, less taxes, etc. Al Gore changed into a looney later. Furthermore, Reagan was once a Democrat, but he changed because of his wife. 'Nuff said my friends.

The most important aspects of Rick Perry come in his state's economic record. Rick Perry has transformed Texas into the financial behemoth California used to be. It's been voted the #1 business climate for seven years (7/10 of Perry's years). The state produces more jobs than anyone else. Perry must be doing something right. The chief of a state can't be so politically skewed and still run a booming state.

“Am I the only one surprised that it’s ben 48 hours since Perry announced his candidacy, and we wtill haven’t had ONE thread devoted to Aggie jokes..”

My son is an Aggie. His favorite Aggie joke?

Q: What do you call an Aggie five years after graduation?

A: Boss.

Might be something to it. My son has been in his first job after graduation since May. Last week they made him a task lead on the engineering project he is working on.

Do you know why they serve cake at an Aggies wedding?

To keep the flies off the bride.

That's an old one I first heard it in ‘57 the year I was an Aggie bride. :D

How many runs does a baseball manager score or how many touchdowns does a football coach score?

Perry may not have “done” anything more to create jobs than to let the public sector work its magic.

Amen. I can vote for this guy and feel good about it based on what I know right now. I know that I won’t agree with him 100% of the time but when does that happen?

Bottom line folks...... Perry will destroy Obama in a general election. That is priority #1.

Let the naysayers jump on here with immigration, trans-Texas corridor, and all the other stuff. I swear, it is not a stretch to say you guys would be taking potshots at Ronaldus Magnus if he had just announced.

I am voting for my kids and if Perry wins the nomination (probably will at this point) I will enthusiastically support him because he will start to reverse the nightmare we are suffering now. His record backs that up.

It’s a long way until the convention but I am more optimistic now. We all held our noses and voted for McCain the last go-around. I won’t have to hold my nose to vote for Perry and you should’nt either.

McCain was personally responsible for undermining the GOP majority in both houses while Bush was in office.

And Perry is only slightly better than that?

McCain was so weak that he couldn’t be the weakest candidate the Dems could have fielded, a junior senator with no resume.

If one gives Arnold the ‘credit’ for California, then the same ‘credit’ goes to Perry for Texas’ economy.

Only slightly better than McCain????? Yeah, right.

In 1964, I was a freshman at NYU, and played freshman basketball ( back i those days..freshman had separate teams. NYU was a national power in those day..often ranked in the top 10, and we played all our home games at Madison Square Garden. Anyways, that year, because the varsity team was so exceptional, the freshman team was invited to play in a little Christmas tournament in College Station. IIRC, it was NYU, A&M, Baylor, and I think SMU..Now except for family vacations to Florida, and a few school trips to DC, I’d never been south of New Jersey, so this was a BIG CULTURE SHOCK to me. Collge Station, back then, seemed like it was in the middle of nowheres. But I thoroughly enjoyed getting introduced to A&M coeds..quite beautiful all..my first experience with GRITS..(girls raised in the south)..BIG HAIR ( it didn’t move in a 40 MPH gale..and 3.2 beer...

Great memory thanks for sharing. Yes it was in the middle of nowhere in ‘64. My husband graduated in ‘58 and the only girl students then were the daughters of professors and school employees. You would not recognize the place now.

95% of the jobs created in Texas in 2009 - PUBLIC SECTOR

Nonsense, give an example, charts etc of this non-fact. Obama clains responsibility for some of the jobs due to his stimulus nonsense
