This is my first thread started here. I have a friend of mine in Tulsa OK who is leaving his Methodist Church because of a female pastor. He is looking for a more conservative Baptist Church in the Tulsa area.
I would like a recommendation from FReepers who are in the area so that I can help my friend.
Thank you very much for your time!
I sent you a private message.
Here are a few they might want to try out. I don’t have personal knowledge of any of them, but I know they will be conservative.

Refreshed
Pretty shallow friend.
What’s that supposed to mean?
Leaving your church because of female pastor comes off as a bit shallow.
If you can help my friend, great.
Otherwise, I don’t care to have comments criticizing my friend for his decision.
Thank you Refreshed.
I’ve sent him the links and hopefully he’ll find one that he likes.
Blessings to you and yours.
I don’t know about shallow, but definitely biblical.
1 Timothy 2:11-12 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. (12) But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
I won’t say anything else. For one thing, the Bible speaks for itself. For another, it is OT.
1. Think you replied to the wrong post.
2. If you mean “there are much bigger issues to cause one to leave the Methodist church,” I agree.
3. If you think that having a female pastor is a non-issue, then I disagree. It is, however, just a symptom of a much larger issue, the rejection of Biblical authority.
Where in Tulsa does this person live.
That is OT in terms of “off topic” not “Old Testament.” Hahaha.
He’d rather not say. Anything in Tulsa will be close enough for him.
Southern Hills Baptist on Lewis
or
Garnett Road Baptist Church
I use to go to church with Sen. Nickles there.
Ok much appreciated!
Thanks for your time.
Don’t know if it will be helpful but I felt at home in both churches.
Some days just depended on how I felt as to which church I would go to.
Oh, I’m sure it will be helpful. What did you like most about both churches?
From the parking lot of his Methodist facility, he should be able to drive a mile in any direction to find a Baptist church. I’d have to say he is really about a day late and dollar short on waking up to the non-Biblical nature of the United Methodist Church. From personal experience, he should also be warned not to expect warm acceptance as the Baptists will expect him to come to their view of confession to salvation, followed by baptism into the church. Expecting to just cross the threshhold and become a “member” will lead to disappointment.
It’s been 20 years. Not sure I can recall exactly.
I live in Kahleefohnee-yah now.
I think I liked them both because I had friends in both churches but they both seemed pretty straight forward Baptist, though not in some extreme way.
There wasn’t this Hell, Fire and Brimstone thing.
There was this love from God and he gave us this rulebook for how to live a better life.
One full of hope, if you worked at it.
One full of peace, if you avoid friction and strife. Not as cowards but as a way of minimizing the people who do not live in peace.
You can be more comfortable with yourself knowing that besides those closest to you, the only other opinion in the universe that matters is that of God’s.
Both places left me with a sense that “I am fine” and that God loves me, as he does all his children.
Wish I could be more specific but I can’t.
