Get used to the idea - Romney will be the GOP nominee [newbie must want the zot to post this idiocy]

Posted on 07/25/2011 6:31:50 AM PDT by no gnu taxes

I'm not trying to inflame. I am not trying to troll. I just bring reality. You probably know it's true yourself.

Romney will be the guy.

At this time in 2007, the dreadful McCain was polling in single digits, and fundless. Yet he won the nomination pretty easily. Romney is MUCH stronger right now.

Who will beat him? I tend to doubt Palin will even run. Bachmann will never get establishment support, and the MSM's efforts to trash her are already underway. Cain just doesn't have the impetus. Ron Paul? Well, he's just Ron Paul. The rest are asterisks.

Back who you want. I encourage you. I hope I am wrong, but I won't be (I like Cain). It's going to be Romney vs. Kenyan Mchopeychange. You might as well get used to the idea.

I don’t think enough people will be willing “to hold their noses” and vote for Romney. He would assure Obama’s reelection. I still do not believe he will be the nominee.

That’s still the process.

I agree. Been saying it on FR for months. Those that do not think so are ignoring reality. The fix is in for Mitt. However, not to late to change it.

This isn’t Soviet era Russia. We still have the means to resist state approved candidates.

Both Perry and Romney stand a good chance of losing to 0.

Please explain to me how it is that the powers that be have the power to put anyone into office they want? Explain the process.

This is bunk. I live in Iowa and I can tell you that if there is a group of people sitting in a board room plotting how the rest of us are going to vote, I don't get it.

If you are right and I have no power at all over who gets the GOP nod, why are all these candidates fighting for my vote?

"If it comes down to Romney vs Obama, I won’t vote."

I live in Commie-fornia, so I don't even need to worry about voting for President...

Yes, Romney is problematic and Perry has issues, but NO ONE is as bad as the incumbent.

So, since getting stabbed is bad, let's vote for getting beaten with a baseball bat. It's not as bad as getting stabbed.

Screw the RINOs! NO MORE F'n RINOS!

but will vote for anyone that will put the Marxist on the unemployment line.

To which (of several) Marxists do you refer?

What, pray, is the value of replacing "Marxist O" with "Marxist R"?

The original poster is clearly (clearly to me, anyway) a troll attempting to control the direction of the conversation. He can bugger himself.

I will not vote for Romney.

Ever.

I will vote for Palin, Perry, Bachmann, possibly others.

Not for Romney.

It’s going to be Perry. He has everything he needs.

Why do people keep saying that they doubt Palin run? just because she doesn’t do the traditional things that she said that she saw in the 2008 campaign and detested?

If you guys think her and her family are afraid of attacks from the media, the questions goes like this:

WHEN has the media stop attacking the family?

What more can they say that’s already been said? Sarah has been accused of murder, remember

If Sarah really wanted to protect her family wouldn’t she had gotten out of the political limelight already?

Can I repeat, there is nothing NEW out there, she has already been vetted like no other? Did she not say in the Newsweek article that her family told her that they were a ‘Go’ for her to run or didn’t care one way or the other what she did, it was up to her?

If you claim that Sarah is the only greedy person around, makes too much money and don’t want the headache to want to run, consider:

Does Herman Cain need the job? He is 65 years old and had a nice radio gig making decent money and can go speak at Tea Party circuit practically anytime he wants to, why can he give that up but Sarah can’t?

Does Romney truly need the job? He’s 64 and already made his millions....etc

and so goes most of the rest in the race

After winning Republican Primary:

Reporter: Mr. Romney, do you find it ironic that you are a member of a church that discriminated against blacks and that you are now running against a black man?

Reporter: Mr. Romney, do you support a return to polygamy in America?

Reporter: Mr. Romney, how does a rich man like you relate to the suffering in America now?

Reporter: Mr. Romney, how was your government takeover of health care different than Mr. Obama’s?

Reporter: Mr. Romney, are you wearing the magic underwear right now?

Reporter: Mr. Romney, are you related to the “Oh jeez, not this sh** again guy” online? There is a striking resemblance.

Reporter: Mr. Romney, has anyone in your family ever served in the US Armed Forces? No? How could you be Commander in Chief?

Reporter: Mr. Romney, how many jobs did you eliminate doing leveraged buyouts for Bain Capital?

Reporter: Mr. Romney, as a Mormon, do you really believe you will become a god someday?

Should have no problem getting out a message of opportunity, limited gov’t and freedom...

EXCEPT that this time, on top of his inherent weaknesses, Romney is a has-been retread.”

So was McCain. For that matter, so was Dole.

Well good for you. Why not just go over and work for the 0bama campaign, and start donating to him?

Who do YOU think will be the nominee, and can that person win?

yep, that’s precisely the problem. So was Reagan for that matter...not a has-been, but he was a re-tread....so was Nixon, and so was Bush. See a pattern here?

It’s a stupid and annoying pattern. But it is a pattern that has persisted for a generation.

With the way Rick Perry panders to La Raza I wouldn’t expect much on the border control front from him.

If there are 30 million illegals in America, that’s enough to fill more than 50 congressional districts. How many more years of that can we take?

At least Bachmann has said she’ll build the border fence if she has to do it on donated money.
