Get used to the idea - Romney will be the GOP nominee [newbie must want the zot to post this idiocy]

Posted on 07/25/2011 6:31:50 AM PDT by no gnu taxes

I'm not trying to inflame. I am not trying to troll. I just bring reality. You probably know it's true yourself.

Romney will be the guy.

At this time in 2007, the dreadful McCain was polling in single digits, and fundless. Yet he won the nomination pretty easily. Romney is MUCH stronger right now.

Who will beat him? I tend to doubt Palin will even run. Bachmann will never get establishment support, and the MSM's efforts to trash her are already underway. Cain just doesn't have the impetus. Ron Paul? Well, he's just Ron Paul. The rest are asterisks.

Back who you want. I encourage you. I hope I am wrong, but I won't be (I like Cain). It's going to be Romney vs. Kenyan Mchopeychange. You might as well get used to the idea.

“And to those who don’t buy the “lesser of two evils” philosophy, stating that “evil is still evil”, there are many more things that 0bama can/has done to destroy our country that Romney or Perry would not. While each is flawed, they will still do less damage than 0bama.”

While it is true that Romney or Perry would do incrementally less damage than Obama, it is also true that they would do no damage to the progressive agenda, let alone set it back.
this is why the progressives do not attack the RINOs, only Cain, Bachman and Palin. The RINOs are easier to run against and if they happen to win they will only slow down the agenda, not damage it.

By your logic, Rudy would have been the winner last time. He is the frontrunner going in, like Rudy.

I'm also remembering the conventional wisdom that told us Hillary was a lock for the democratic nomination. She was the expected winner.

And we all know how THAT turned out.

I'm the chairman of America's Independent Party, the third-largest party in the country based on voter registrations.

If the formerly grand old party nominates Mitt Romney, it will have assured our party's future.

That's a fact.

I heard that rumor, but is it really true? Do you have a link that shows actual and factual verification?

Doesn’t matter. Clinton was still “disgraced” and he still won.

Unless the ‘Pubbies fight for every vote, Obama has his next term won. Doubly so if the GOP puts up an “Obama Lite” candidate like Romney.

Get used to the idea - I won’t be voting for him, regardless.

Funny, whenever I think of Romney, this image leaps to mind.

Only 6 more tries - go Mitt!

Signed up May 2011? A stirrer-upper troll in our midst. Nice try to put everyone in a tither, but doubt if you’ll be very successful. Most people here will vote for ABO in 2012, even if it’s Romney (while holding their noses).

Our own fault.

We let bureaucrats get away with ideas like “entitlements.” As if people who contribute nothing to nation, are “entitled” to anything.

IN the name of charity, we let our hearts write checks that our minds and bodies were not able to cover and set that example for our children.

Now it is time for the hard choices: who gets left out on the ice? Problem is, the parasites get to vote and their votes count as much as ours do.

Choosing between being stabbed or bludgeoned is not a choice.

The appeals of the “lesser of two evils” political shysters are becoming far less effective, because folks are waking up to the fact that the difference is about as great as the difference between a baseball bat to the elbow and a crowbar to the kneecap.

"Oooohhhh! Oooohhh! You might as well just go work on Obama's campaign! If you don't choose a RINO progressive light you're doomed to fail!"

I'm sick of idiots telling me I have to choose a turd sandwich to run against a giant douchebag.

NO MORE RINOS!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I used to wonder if Operation Chaos worked against us. If it worked so well that we got Obama instead of Hillary.I don’t know ANYONE (conservative) that would argue Obama is better than Hillary would have been.
But over all.... I really don’t think Operation Chaos had any real effect at all.
Yea, you do have that. However, IMHO, both AIP and Falcon are to the GOP like LRon Paul is to POTUS.
When Obama declared the LBJ Welfare system “Open for Business” again, he must have known that would guarantee his 2 terms.
We now have 45 million on Food Stamps. (Up from 26 Million under Bush.)
51 Million on Welfare. (Double what Bush had.)
And those on Welfare are not considered in the Food Stamps figure. They are separate.
There is 96 Million sure Obama voters for you right from the start. Add several Million ACORN (Free Housing) recipients and you have over 100 Million supporters. That's a third of the total population.
Given the Unions, 54% of the population who don't pay taxes. Then you are absolutely correct. Obama only needs to pick up a small number of voters to get reelected.
