The beautiful, bright and charming Michelle Obama may have recently wrapped up her week-long tour of South Africa and Botswana but shes left behind messages of hope and inspiration.
With daughters Malia and Sasha and mother Marian Robinson in tow, the First Lady met with young women and encouraged them to become active in combating HIV/AIDS, poverty and other areas of social change. At a US-Africa youth leadership conference, Obama spoke to 70 young girls about how each could make a difference. So make no mistake about it: There are still so many causes worth sacrificing for. There is still so much history yet to be made, she said. We still struggle every day to perfect our union and live up to our ideals. And every day, it is our young people who are leading the way, she added.
Returning home to the U.S., Michelle Obama has been busy traveling throughout New England, heaping praise upon members of the military and speaking of the need to help youth. On Thursday, Mrs. Obama met with family members of the Vermont National Guard, saying that the National Guard, its reserve members and their families deserve the nations thanks and support. Her speech also highlighted Joining Forces, an organization founded by the First Lady and Jill Biden to encourage individuals and businesses to help military members and their families.
Mrs. O quickly moved on to Massachusetts where she addressed a crowd of 100 attendees at a Friday evening Boston fundraiser. The First Lady touched audience members by revealing her husbands deep sense of compassion and commitment to the American people. I see it in those quiet moments late at night, after the girls have gone to bed, and when he is at his desk reading the letters that people have sent him. The letter from the woman dying of cancer whose health insurance would not cover her care. And I see the worry creasing his face. I hear the passion and determination in his voice. You would not believe what these folks are going through, she said.
The First Lady admitted that while her husbands administration has made great strides, there are many Americans who still need our help.
Well we do live in a society where everything is backwards.Evil is good,Good is evil,up is down down is up.Why not ugly is beautiful?
Ok, it’s now been 33 years plus since the Lancet article. Can we all admit now that HIV doesn’t cause acquired immune deficiency ‘syndrome’, and that AIDs is NOT a sexually transmitted disease? A tremendous scam by the homosexuals to suck billions out of our pockets, and it worked. Let’s see, Global Warming, AIDs, Oil Spills in the Gulf and many many more all courtesy of communists and anarchists. If they can’t get you with the truth, they’ll invent the truth!
So, it wasn’t just ME that had that reaction to the statement? I’m (still) in the right place.
Ah, Okay.
stopped reading after that line. The writer must be pitied for his blindness. A good seeing eye dog is in order.
Guilty as charged! LOL
