Weinergate: The Line For Apologies To Andrew Breitbart Forms On The Left

Now that more photos and information are coming out from multiple sources about Anthony Weiner's online exchange of photos and salacious talk, it is worth revisiting how the left blogosphere relentlessly pushed the meme that this was an Andrew Breitbart hoax:

Charles Johnson:

Joseph Cannon:

DailyKos:

Eric Boehlert, who took time out from proofreading:

The hoax theory also made its way into the mainstream media via Jeffrey Toobin on CNN:

(see Toobin video on the linked site)

While this drama still is unfolding, it is not too early for all these people who maliciously attacked Breitbart to line up for apologies.

The line forms on the left.

I would hold me breath for a line to form or apologies to be given. I expect to hear the distinct chirp of crickets.

They won’t apologize.

“Wenis” is a good way to refer to them in the future, so they know nobody has forgotten the “little problem.”

Progressives never apologize. They just “move on”.

What the hell happened to Charles Johnson?

My impression is that he did a full "David Brock" maneuver, and for the same reason.

Today they seem to have falled silent and are saying he hijacked Weiner’s press conferance which is not true....some of them there asked him to go to the mike so he could be heard...instead of addressing what happened when Weiner started to talk.Do they not realize how stupid they look?

Some liberals have been deflecting the subject, so that instead of talking about Weiner, they want to talk about why some people want to dig up scandalous information about people, and what about the ethics of those who publicize scandal, yadda, yadda, yadda.

We know there are different standards for Republicans and Democrats. For a Republican caught in scandal, the liberal view is that we need to nail him for hypocrisy, and that we do talk about the salacious details. For a Democrat, we say we need to move on, and that there are more important things to discuss, emphasize how the Democrat perpetrator apologized, etc. and say let’s move on. Or as now, we talk about how sad it is that some Republican/conservative operatives are going after Democrat scandals, without condemning the scandalous behavior.

Hey Charles Johnson, did the tweets you analyzed have “layers”?? Did they still come from no known camera in the universe? (meaning what, I never knew, Breitbart has secret North Korean technology or something?)

LGF was just disgusting on this all week. PROVING beyond the shadow of a doubt, with geometric logic, etc.

Nay, I am sticking with the original. But there won't be an Oscar Mayor Weiner of NYC, at least we have that.

LGF used to have some interesting coverage of the Middle East and seemed to be pro-sanity (that is, not taking the PA line on everything). Then a switch happened and many of us just stopped reading the site. Charles used to post fairly frequently about his work as a web host guy and the software behind it. At a point, he started to “over tech” things (making it seem more was there than actually was, tech-wise) and that he was some super techie. His analysis of Weinergate shows he was not so tech smart. Too bad, it was a good site at one time.

Andy needs to sue, he will prevail because even though he is a public figure, actual malice is present in Weiner’s defamation.

Alinskyites are devil worshipers, just like Saul Alinsky was!

I think that there are ‘liberals’ who are not so dyed in the wool that they’ll follow the Democrat Alinskyites straight to hell.

All ‘we’ have to do is try to educate them to the facts and hope that they’ll change their opinion when they learn the truth.
