Trump calls for her candidacy.
Sarah Palin is running for President and the coy, homespun thing is wearing thin, annoying her fellow Republicans and just amusing many Democrats who smell blood if she wins the GOP nomination.
She says she is on a casual vacation, yet is headed to New Hampshire (Surprise! Home of the first primary), where she may upstage Mitt Romney, who is expected to formally enter his run today for the White House. He is arguably the GOP presidential front-runner. Especially in New Hampshire, where a CNN/WMUR poll found him to be the choice of 33 percent of potential voters there.
Yet Palin may rain on the cloud of another Republican hopeful traveling to N.H. today, former NYC mayor Rudolph Giuliani. He is testing the waters, and has to swim against the current. His speeches in his last run were constant repeats of Remember 9/11, which may not play as well now. Plus there are pictures of him in a dozen different dresses, which he attributes to having fun at fund-raisers. OK, we understand one or two incidents of cross-dressing in college or at a benefit, but this guy has more gowns than my sister.
The first New Hampshire debate is June 13.
Palin is in the same boat, in that the GOP seniors have grave concerns that she could not beat President Barack Obama, whose remember 9/11 was followed up by having Osama bin-Laden killed. Obamas polls go up and down, though he is traveling some of the roughest financial waters since the Great Depression, and will be hard to beat. Adding his oratory and fund-raising skills, plus the incumbent advantage, no wonder the Republicans are worried about who to put up to bat.
Palin may show up on a dog-sled, Obama arrives in Air Force One.
Palins whole strategy right now say observers, is to allow her to stand down without embarrassment if the polls dont favor her. Not a very Presidential image. The business of no-schedule on her tour and Im a rebel running on my own highway by my own rules is cool. But that road is filled with potholes and she is pissing people off, whom she needs for electoral votes if it ever comes down to it.
Even the press is tired of this game, they need to know where to book rooms and set up cameras. Palins summer vacation is turning into a winter for them, and they will be needed in a real-live election, not a publicity stunt which is what they are increasingly thinking.
She is rolling into Boston about now after the New York City excursion where she met with Donald Trump, who has dropped out of the race. He pledged his support and called on her to go for the gold.
The press made a fuss over the location of their brunch, a pizza joint/chain in Times Square. However it is not unusual for politicians to be seen eating anything that might endear them to locals, and would eat possum or rats-on-a-stick if called for. Only thing is the chain is considered horrible by many real New Yorkers, who know their pies. What was Trump thinking?
Palin has acknowledged that she is interested in running for president, but has insisted that her unusual tour is about highlighting Americas great historic sites. Oddly enough, the historic sites coincide with the big primaries and are not fooling anyone.
She is a smart cookie and does not appear delusional, just seeing if she can get nominated without being humiliated. A tough road for that election tour bus of hers, but not nearly as tough as the final laps would be come November 2012.
Bottom line: She will not formally announce in New Hampshire, but if she can make a lot of rain to pour on the other candidates, she is definitely running for president of the United States.
“Palin may show up on a dog-sled, Obama arrives in Air Force One. “
Gosh. Nothing smug or elitist about THIS guy.
Ah, the incredible pleasure it’s going to be watching these clowns have the biggest hissy fit in the history of the universe if/when Palin beats the worst President in history for the job.
Idiots. Nobody is making them go along.
For the record, I think she's not running.

Well, maybe, but ya gotta love his lines about Rudy G —
“Plus there are pictures of [Giuliani] in a dozen different dresses, which he attributes to having fun at fund-raisers. OK, we understand one or two incidents of cross-dressing in college or at a benefit, but this guy has more gowns than my sister.”
Really? Here in my state, the GOP wants Romney too. But then....they also wanted McCain last time.
LOL! If they go this crazy when she goes on vacation, I can’t wait to see when she goes to work!
I have never in my life seen them media so desperate to grab ratty little scraps of petty garbage, and then try to arrange them into some ugly caricature in order to bring someone down.
You can Alinsky someone to the point where there’s blowback when you get this pathetic and outrageous.
Giuliani’s cross-dressing photos will always hang on him like a Albatross around his neck. He may be a real human being who wants to let his hair down (Hee! Hee!) and party a little, but those photos allow people to draw their own conclusions; depending on their their moral prejudice.
It is hard to justify those cross-dressing occasions because many like me see them as a window into Giuliani’s character. We would not want him in the Oval Office and, in a lark to let off some of the pressure, stray off from conservative principles to humor the Left.
It would be transsexuals at State dinners under Julie-Annie’s administration. The new normal. That gay-lesb thing is so passe.
Yeah...What you said.
