When a new day is breaking and many faiths are choosing to be good neighbors towards one another.
Believers in the doctrines of modern Christendom will reap damnation to their souls.
- Apostle Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, see pp. 45-46
... all the millions of apostate Christendom have abased themselves before the mythical throne of a mythical Christ.... in large part the worship of apostate Christendom is performed in ignorance, as much so as was the worship of the Athenians who bowed the Unknown Gods.
- Apostle Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, pp. 269, 374-375
***
That was his personal feeling and opinion it was neither a revelation nor doctrine which it seems some here cannot discern.
I thank the Lord that many hearts and minds are able to receive and move towards a better day to be good neighbors towards one another.
I have and am witnessing daily those who practice Love One Another and those negative antis who continues to be prideful and hold enmity towards others will reap what they sow.

Will you post soft porn to stop folks from opposing your peepstone sexual predator of married women religion, like you did a few years ago? Or have you become more holy in your striving for goddesshood?
Excuse me that young thing that you admire when I show others who you were talking about the kind of gal you like now you are blaming me!
Any ways it seem you have linger there over the years.
Everyday is new and we are to repent and strive to do better and grow in the ways of the Lord unless ye have little faith that the Lord forgives.....
Typical double talk ... you own your actions and you tried to post soft porn which I in no way endorsed and in fact called you on it immediately on that thread. And yes, I do recall the incident and it is in my memory files because it is such a contrast to play ‘restorer’ of christian ideals while being a servant of the most low.
Hypocritical resty. He wrote it as a teaching in a book that was eventually ok'd by the ga.
"Apostle" McConkie is not granted latitude for opinions in such writings as he is at ALL times a representative of the lds church. He presented this as a teaching - you apparently then must condemn him as a false teacher since he in his role as an 'apostle' taught this. Your prophet approved of these statements - that makes him an acessory to false teachings and thus a false teacher and prophet as well.
I have and am witnessing daily those who practice Love One Another and those negative antis who continues to be prideful and hold enmity towards others will reap what they sow.
Tell me then resty has the mormon church removed from the bom where it states that my church is the church of the devil (1 Nephi 14:10). Pretty negative from the mouth of mormons to me. Perhaps your prophet can get snip this part out of it - then perhaps one can believe your ooozy words of 'good neighbors'.
Do you support Romney for president?
nice try...
BTW it was not soft porn it was among the google list of photos when I looked for a photo of her....
she dresses just like the rest of the Hollywood misfits stop trying to make it like it was something it was not!
From MormonWiki Mormon Doctrine, by Bruce R. McConkie, was written in 1958. It was written when Bruce R. McConkie was a Seventy, a position of authority in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but lower in authority than an apostle or prophet.
The book was written without review or guidance from church leaders, and included a notation from him that he was entirely responsible for its content.
The book has never been an official source for church doctrine.
Then you are admitting that McConkie was a false teacher then

Cite mormonwiki more fully resty and you'll read -
"A second edition to Mormon Doctrine was created under the guidance of Spencer W. Kimball, who would later become the prophet of the Church. He guided Elder McConkie through the preparation of the second edition to Mormon Doctrine, suggesting approximately fifty changes to make, and Elder McConkie made other changes on his own. No official doctrine was altered in the book, but the author softened the tone, removed material extraneous to the purpose of the book, and also took out material that was not official doctrine and clarified status on other items. "
Hmmmm, no OFFICIAL doctrine was changed.
The book has never been an official source for church doctrine.
"If anyone, regardless of his position in the Church, were to advance a doctrine that is not substantiated by the standard Church works, meaning the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price, you may know that his statement is merely his private opinion. The only one authorized to bring forth any new doctrine is the President of the Church, who, when he does, will declare it as revelation from God, and it will be so accepted by the Council of the Twelve and sustained by the body of the Church. And if any man speak a doctrine which contradicts what is in the standard Church works, you may know by that same token that it is false and you are not bound to accept it as truth." (Harold B. Lee, The First Area General Conference for Germany, Austria, Holland, Italy, Switzerland, France, Belgium, and Spain of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, held in Munich Germany, August 2426, 1973, with Reports and Discourses, 69. Quoted from "Official Church doctrine and statements by Church leaders")
You state that MD doesn't not contain mormon doctrine. The ga proclaimation states that And if any man speak a doctrine which contradicts what is in the standard Church works, you may know by that same token that it is false and you are not bound to accept it as truth." Then by your testimony resty, McConkie was a teacher of false mormon doctrines. How did the mormon church allow a false teacher to rise to the position of an Apostle resty? Why was MD so widely cited in other mormon literature of the time if it was false doctrinally?
No he was not a false teacher he was human and spoke from his only understanding we all make those mistakes of not waiting on the Lord to edify our thoughts.
One really can not go on passion alone one must allow the Spirit of the Lord to edify or else one could make mistakes and misunderstandings
That is why we are counsel to read ponder and pray and not take for granted that our passions are alright.
Doctrine and Covenants section 8
1 Oliver Cowdery, verily, verily, I say unto you, that assuredly as the Lord liveth, who is your God and your Redeemer, even so surely shall you receive a knowledge of whatsoever things you shall ask in faith, with an honest heart, believing that you shall receive a knowledge concerning the engravings of old records, which are ancient, which contain those parts of my scripture of which has been spoken by the manifestation of my Spirit.
2 Yea, behold, I will tell you in your mind and in your heart, by the Holy Ghost, which shall come upon you and which shall dwell in your heart.
3 Now, behold, this is the spirit of revelation; behold, this is the spirit by which Moses brought the children of Israel through the Red Sea on dry ground.
4 Therefore this is thy gift; apply unto it, and blessed art thou, for it shall deliver you out of the hands of your enemies, when, if it were not so, they would slay you and bring your soul to destruction.
5 Oh, remember these words, and keep my commandments. Remember, this is your gift.
But how soon the mortal man forgets and tries to run on his own instaed of waiting on the Lord to resume.
Section 9
1 Behold, I say unto you, my son, that because you did not translate according to that which you desired of me, and did commence again to write for my servant, Joseph Smith, Jun., even so I would that ye should continue until you have finished this record, which I have entrusted unto him.
2 And then, behold, other records have I, that I will give unto you power that you may assist to translate.
3 Be patient, my son, for it is wisdom in me, and it is not expedient that you should translate at this present time.
4 Behold, the work which you are called to do is to write for my servant Joseph.
5 And, behold, it is because that you did not continue as you commenced, when you began to translate, that I have taken away this privilege from you.
6 Do not murmur, my son, for it is wisdom in me that I have dealt with you after this manner.
7 Behold, you have not understood; you have supposed that I would give it unto you, when you took no thought save it was to ask me.
8 But, behold, I say unto you, that you must study it out in your mind; then you must ask me if it be right, and if it is right I will cause that your bosom shall burn within you; therefore, you shall feel that it is right.
9 But if it be not right you shall have no such feelings, but you shall have a stupor of thought that shall cause you to forget the thing which is wrong; therefore, you cannot write that which is sacred save it be given you from me.
10 Now, if you had known this you could have translated; nevertheless, it is not expedient that you should translate now.
Perhaps you need to reread this
And if any man speak a doctrine which contradicts what is in the standard Church works, you may know by that same token that it is false and you are not bound to accept it as truth."
mcconkie spoke/taught doctrinal materials, heavly citing mormon canon - there is no excuse - he is a false teacher by mormon definition. The SECOND edition went out under the GA's blessing - their assurance that the doctrines taught WERE correct to those in the standard works. Now the GA then is allowing (since they reviewed and blessed the second edition) false doctrines to be taught.
So much for those living prophets eh?
Oliver Cowdery
Or does it prove there is no time,
Because some watches will not go?
............................................................ Or prove that Christ was not the Lord
Because that Peter cursed and swore?
Or Book of Mormon not His word
Because denied, by Oliver?
A second edition to Mormon Doctrine was created under the guidance of Spencer W.
However, Mormon Doctrine is still not an official source of doctrine and the publisher of the second edition states in the front of the book that it is “a reflection on the times and culture in which it was written” and that it should not be considered an official statement of doctrine.
“Bruce R. McConkie was in the positions he held, for the decades he held them, because the Lord wanted him there. He was every bit as much an apostle as anyone else in the quorum. He was called by God and sustained by the church. There is no such thing as a lesser apostle. “Nor is there any such thing as an infallible man, and there may be random errors in Bruce R. McConkies writings. He may also have sometimes stepped on peoples toes inadvertently or on purpose. But he honored his priesthood and he magnified his calling. And he did what he set out to do he boldly declared the doctrines of the Mormon church.”
Often in his book, McConkie declared the meaning of prophecies from the Bible, or stated his own opinions. Because of his very authoritative tone, which left no room for other opinions, people assumed that everything he said was owned by the Church. Yet, McConkie’s disclaimer is there at the beginning, that this was his own work and his own opinions, and not those of the Church. ~ Mormon wiki
He pronounced those things with the blessings of the GA. He pronounced "false doctrine" according to the GA. He was not censored in the 2d edition.
So mcconkie was a false teacher - since he brought false teachings - based upon your words.
You know resty - if a work approved by the GA for its second edition, written by a duly recognized represenative of mormonism and overseen by the ga and approved under the title “mormon doctrine” cannot be clear on issues of the Mormon faith then Mormons are no better than the blind leading the blind.
