Isn’t Rossi from the University of Bologna?
If all this is true, it could lead to alot of perterbations in the energy industry. We will just have to wait and see whether this is all Bologna or time dependent perturbations.

From what I understand a unit producing a steady 4kW would cost an estimated $8,000 and use about $10 worth of powdered nickel and a small amount of hydrogen for fuel over a six month period. At that time a technician would re-fuel the unit. Rather than a technician visiting, it would be better if it had a canister that the homeowner could pop out himself and swap at his local hardware store, like your propane tank exchange.

According to Rossi, it may be a little too complicated for the homeowner, as is. That's why he is going to sell his units only to industry to start with. Home units and automobile engines will be some generations down the road. But, I'm sure the technology will be adaptable, if it does work. Seem logical to me that it will. There is a world of evidence gathered over the past 20 some years that the effect is real. Getting it to repeat on command has been the nut to crack. Rossi says he has. We'll see shortly.

The biggest reason big government fears cheap energy such as E-Cat is because it would be too difficult to milk for tax dollars."
Those who write the tax codes have much more imagination than you do. I assure you that the government won't loose a nickel in tax dollars if this system displaces out current energy sources. In fact, I'm confident the government will find a way to make even more in taxes off of this. If unlimited energy were able to come out of your water tap, they'd still find a way to make more taxes off of it.

It would be transformational technology, if it's for real. Every ship could be cheaply nuke powered. Every third-world nation could have unlimited-range nuke subs.
If this is a fake, I'm going to want to string him up. If it's real, he will be remembered alongside Newton, Edison, and Einstein.

He may be wrong but I don’t think he’s a fake. Yup. He’ll go down in history as a giant if he’s cracked the puzzle. I think that may be what’s driving him. Heard him interviewed.

Here is what Dr. Edmund Storms, physicist, had to say about Rossi and his catalyzer in an interview:
Dr. Storms: Well, theyre planning to use this as a source of energy in a factory in Greece, and theyre making arrangements in Greece for this to be incorporated into an industrial application, an industrial factory.
It has to be done in industry at this level because we dont know if its safe, we dont know its characteristics, we just dont know enough about it to put it into individual homes. This is what he says, and its quite rational. It has to be explored, its characteristics have to be understood in an industrial environment, so theyre going to do that in Greece.
Of course, hes taking orders, and Im sure therell be people from all over the world, where regulations are not so quite severe, and minds are more open than they are here, and theyll buy units, and put them in their factories, and suddenly the cost of energy to those companies will go down significantly, and all of a sudden people will panic, and then therell be a stampede to buy these things.

Considering that electricity cost is a large percentage in the cost of
producing aluminum, we might see aluminum refineries as big customers. They have the advantages of being big users and being generally far away from residential areas.

If you believe that then your imagination must be fueled with PCP. In fact “imagination” has nothing to do with it. Scumbag Democrat big government confiscates whatever taxes it wants through shameless thuggery at the point of a gun.

The biggest reason big government fears cheap energy such as E-Cat...
No amount of supposed "big government fear," of course, can change the fact that Rossi has not revolutionized energy production, or physics.
That is, unless you want to go whole hog and suggest that Rossi is actually a revolutionary genius whose work will be supressed by powerful interests, which will explain why he never produces a single watt of power for sale.

I am new to this subject but it seems to be well beyond the hoax stage.
Yes, it's reasonable for someone new to this subject to think that this is well beyond the hoax stage.
As someone who isn't new to this subject, let me assure you that it's not beyond much of anything. Claimed energy breakthroughs are a dime a dozen, and this particular one is still tracking the trajectory of all the hoaxes that came before, validation from a Swedish tech blogger notwithstanding.
Rossi will never generate a single watt of power as economically as standard methods, and his claimed breakthroughs will not be replicated by the scientific community. This happens all the time. Really.

I honestly don’t think it’s a scam. I don’t see anything in it for the scammers and those that are supporting Rossi. If you have academics with reputations to protect going out on a limb saying there has to be some kind of nuclear reaction I think there has to be something very unusual going on.
The other option, apart from the scam, would be measurement error — but these tests have repeatably shown the same levels of power output vs. input.
BTW, the Italian office of Patents and Trademarks have awarded Rossi a patent on the energy catalyzer.

The enviros=whackos would find a way to ban it.
The politicians of every stripe would find a way to tax it.
The power companies would find a way to monopolize it.
The oil companies would find a way to kill it.
The Chinese would find a way to steal it.
The rednecks would find a way to build their own........................
