Video: Trump- If I Were Pres, I'd Tell OPEC "You're Not to Raise the F***ing Price" of Oil

Well, I don't think that anyone can deny that Donald Trump is at least a little fiery...

Here is a short transcript:

Trump- Did you see recently where, a couple of days ago, Saudia Arabia said, "Let's raise the price, let's cut back production?" Can you believe it? You're gonna be paying $5 and $6 a gallon for gasoline pretty soon... and they wanna go in and raise the price of oil because we have nobody in Washington that sits back and said 'you're not going to raise that f***ing price! Do you understand me?'

[Followed by loud applause]

Trump 2012: An asskicker, not an asskisser.

I like that but of course the Lindsay Grahams of the party won't.

You'd have to, in a single day, ban all importation of oil for all time. THAT would mess us up about as badly as we were messed up during WW-II for about a year (we'd survive it) after which we'd be in fabulous condition.

The trouble with war measures is that they require wars. I recently read a commenter on another Website who wrote that his grandfather, around 1943 or so, referred to the 1930s as the "good old days." I kid you not. That fellow's grampaw thought that the Great Depression years were relatively good as compared with life in '43.

I don't see any way that the U.S. public would endure the economic collapse that your measure would engender unless it were part of an all-out, full-draft, multimillion-troop, multimillion-death shooting war. That kind of belt-tightening and pain are easier to endure when a fourth to a third of the youngsters are suffering and dying on the front lines. It makes the civvies feel fortunate by comparison, which makes almost anything endurable.

In a way, it's a pity that the Greatest Generation were so tight-lipped about their experiences during World War 2. [My maternal grandfather, an M.D., never spoke of what his war work was; my mother had to find out after he passed away.] Had they been less stiff-lipped, we'd find out what "war is hell" really meant. Complainers may be irritating, but honest and well-meaning ones inform.

[Of course, I'm one to talk: I hardly complain about anything.]

How is this guy leading GOP polls? I’d probably prefer him to Romney but not many other candidates.

Trump says what we'd all like to say; what we'd all like to hear to hear from the President of the US. Unfortunately, the world doesn't work that way. The very simple solutions that Trump suggests for very complex problems is one more indicator that he is nothing more than a fat, arrogant, self-serving blowhard who is trying to get as much attention as he can by pretending to be one of us. He won't run; I can't imagine him opening his financial records for the public. I wish he'd decided to take up the libs causes, instead of ours to get the attention his ego seems to need.

BRAVO ‘plain talk’. Everything that I hear Trump say makes me come to one of two conclusions. 1. He’s an attention-addicted blowhard or 2. He’s a simpleton. In either case, in does nothing for the conservative cause.

We’re America. We kick ass and take names.

Say for a moment he's actually elected. Do you really believe he's going to put actions to those words? He won't. And even in his narcisstic mind...he KNOWS he won't.

How does Trump feel about opening up the areas in the US closed by the Feds to drilling?

Exactly. That should be his focus, not mindless trashtalking.

Maybe not an asskisser, most likely NOT an asskicker...but most DEFINITELY an ass.

The theory I'm waiting to hear is how anybody thinks FDR and Ike would have prosecuted WW-II while they were buying oil from Adolf Hitler for $140/barrel. That's just war by another name.

We do have the resources to do the thing I'm suggesting without anybody dying from it. A year later we'd be four times better off than we'd ever been, and OPEC would be gone along with every rogue regime on the planet.

In the 1940’s, we didn't get the majority of our transportation fuel from outside our borders.

You are delusional.

I would vote for this man in a second. Knocks it out of the park each and every time.

We do have the resources to do the thing I'm suggesting without anybody dying from it.

The point I'm trying to make is, the public won't stand for it unless it's part of an all-out world war - the real thing. Already declared, with a full draft.

How many members of the general public bought into Jimmy Carter's "Moral Equivalent Of War" in the late 1970s? What his Adminstration did back then was picayune in comparison to what you're suggesting. You may remember that he had a similar goal in mind.
