The Man of Steel, in the latest issue of Action Comics which hit newsstands on Wednesday, said he intends to renounce his U.S. citizenship in a speech before the United Nations.

Ok I admit to being a nerd - I have seen the comic, Superman stood for a day with Iranian protesters and saw how they were abandoned by Obama and was mortified. He didnt use any superpowers just stood with the demonstrators in show of support.
The conversation where he denounces US citizenship is with an Obama official who is trying to weasel away Obama's abandonment of the protestors.
