Will Iowa become the "late-term abortion capital" of the U.S.?

Females from all over the country will travel to Iowa for late-term abortions if the state senate does not act quickly, according to pro-life organization Operation Rescue. Leroy Carhart is the country’s foremost practitioner of late-term abortions. He plans to open a clinic in the Council Bluffs area very soon, even promoting it on his website.

House File 657 is a bill aimed at blocking Carhart from coming to Iowa, by banning abortions after 20 weeks. It should be discharged soon from the Government Oversight Committee, opening it for full debate in the Iowa Senate. The bill’s fate there remains unknown.

The “fetal pain” bill is grossly immoral and unconstitutional. It’s worse than Roe. Brought to you courtesy of “pro-life” “conservative” “Christians.”

Iowa's governor is a pro-life Republican so, if it passes the state legislature, there is little chance it will be vetoed.

It doesn’t prevent babies from being butchered. Quite the contrary. It assures that they will all continue to be killed, because it abandons every decent moral, constitutional argument against the practice of child-killing. It assures the continuation of abortion on demand.

In Roe, Blackmun dehumanized the child. That’s the main point of Roe, which helped lead the way to the killing of more than fifty million children.

But even he, in the written majority opinion, admitted that if the “fetus” is a person, “of course” they are protected by the explicit provisions of the Constitution.

This legislation admits that the child is a person, explicitly. And then it says you can kill them anyway.

And Roe was nothing more than one unconstitutional court opinion. The immoral, unconstitutional “fetal pain” bill is the codification of the killing of the innocent.

EV, that is pure blithering nonsense.

It's quite simple. Leroy Carhart, the country's #1 late term abortion doctor, will come to Iowa and set up shop and butcher babies all over the country unless this bill is passed.

There is a reason why Indiana, Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma passed similar legislation.

How you can possibly be against putting Carhart out of business is beyond me.

Your argument lacks any semblance of thought, logic and reason.

Really? You think admitting that the baby is a person, and then saying you can kill them anyway, is "thoughtful," or "logical" or "reasonable"?

There are plenty of ways to "keep Carhart out," that don't involve surrendering the most important foundational principles of our free republic and our State.

This is insane. Our laws should keep all murderers out.

I support the Personhood bill too, but it won’t pass.

So beyond that, please tell me another way to keep Carhart out.

Deny him every permit that is required to open such a killing center.

We don’t lack the means to stop the killing. We lack the will to do so. In every branch of government.

But you’re not going to bring back adherence to the oath to protect all innocent life by codifying the “legal” killing of innocent persons. The idea that you can do so is bizarre, to say the least. It’s perverse.

There is no other way to prevent Carhart from coming here. Period.

No. I’m simply pointing out that the Constitution of the United States, and the constitution of Iowa, DEMAND the protection of EVERY innocent person’s life, and that EVERY PERSON be provided the equal protection of the laws.

These are imperatives that are premised in the first principles of our country. It’s not optional.

And your precious lawless legislation destroys those principles.

And the only justification you can give for this absolute breach of the oaths of each of our legislators, and executive branch officers, and judges, is fear of one particular mass murderer. Stop him, and everyone like him, don’t destroy the very raison d’etre of government.

I find it remarkable that you can claim that someone who advocates the defense of ALL innocent persons, as the Constitutions of the United States and the State of Iowa explicitly and imperatively require, could be responsible for the deaths of the very innocent persons YOUR beloved lawless, unconstitutional legislation allows to be killed.

You have turned logic on its head.
