A caller to the Rush Limbaugh show today pointed out an interesting factoid about the so-called "long-form" birth certificate, which the Obama White House released today.
The document is a .pdf file which can be downloaded from this link. The file is an Adobe Acrobat ".pdf" file, which can also be opened by Adobe's other graphics programs Photoshop and Illustrator.

I think Corsi’s book is the real key to this release. What’s with the story about the original book being locked away in a super secure one person access vault last month?
Anyone who isn’t suspicious of all these going on, must be totally lost sitting through a mystery movie or trying to read a detective novel.
Sherlock Holmes they are not.
No, you're not missing something. You caught it.
I'm sure you'll think anyone who doesn't support your birther conspiracy theory is "covering for Obama." This thing has gotten beyond stupid.
I opened it in Acrobat 7.0 Professional, which is what they called the full-blown version back when I got it.
Why did they scan it as an OCR instead of an image file?
I think they probably just had that set as the default. Lots of scanning software for large-volume document archiving and management, not just Acrobat, will save the image of the document (for future reference) AND extract the text (for later searching). From a company that makes such software:
A text searchable PDF is a PDF file that contains an invisible machine-editable text overlay that allows the user to search for and locate specific text within the PDF document. This invisible layer of text is necessary for a text searchable PDF since the visible text contained within PDF files is not recognized by computers as text. The software used to create text searchable PDF files is called OCR.That's probably just the option they already had turned on. I have no idea what happens when you open such a PDF in Illustrator--it's not something that would be standard procedure. But the idea that the OCR component's text boxes would show up doesn't sound unlikely.
Thanks! That’s exactly what we wanted to know.
The hubby works with Acrobat and wanted to see what you were saying, but didn’t know which to use.
Here is an early article citing FEC records. But we also know that his law firms have fought many eligibility battles since then.

How can it be file #151 in 1961 in Hawaii. Only the 151st birth in the state of Hawaii as of 1961? Seems very odd.
Hang onto that #151. You may break this case wide open with it.
Smoking gun indeed but no one will talk about it.
The hospital name obviously was changed when this latest birth certificate was put together. What else did they change? The hospital wasn’t in existance until after Obama was born. I checked their website and verified that they merged and changed names in 1978.
Also notice the difference in addresses of the hospitals on the Nordyke’s certificate and Obamas. They are not the same. The Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children’s official address on their website is 1319 Punahou Street.
My guess is that Nordyke was born at one hospital and Obama at the other. While someone changed the name of the hospital on the certificate is it possible that they neglected to change the address?
Just the fact that the name of the facility was “updated” casts suspicion on the authenticity of the information on the entire certificate. If one fact can be changed so can another. After all, this is not a photocopy of the original certificate but a completely newly generated document that is suppose to reflect what is on the original.
And then there is the fact that African is listed as race. Suspicious. Waiting for another certificate from Hawaii for a black baby born in that same year. It will be interesting.
I guess there is the possibility that the law firms have done other things for Obama than to defend against eligibility.
But there have been so many legal actions regarding eligibility, and the Obama administration has fought them all, that it’s certain that he has run up a substantial bill.
And that wouldn’t include costs like the court martial of Lt Lakin.
Also, the pixel size of the numbers looks about a quarter of the area of the pixels in the background. Probably just that layering thing.
That’s related to the layering affect that occurred when converting the image to PDF. The image files show no such difference. And the layering has been explained by National Review Online, unless of course we want to assume they are in on the conspiracy.
If the document had been sent by Fed Ex in a sealed envelop directly from the Department of Health then I would agree that the Department of Health would be complicit.
If it turns out to be a proven fake, the officials will deny everything.
Obama sent his minions to pick up **something**. Who knows what, and who knows what happened to it on the way? It could be that whatever was given to this couriers was destroyed and replaced by a document that had been fabricated in the basement of the White House.
Just as Fukino’s statements didn't disprove Obama’s eligibility neither did they disprove it.
Well....This “official” slop neither proves or disproves his eligibility. I am certain that was Obama’s intention.
Great!/s
