Ann Coulter not on board Donald Trump's birther crusade
The Daily Caller ^ | April 12, 2011 | Jeff Poor

Some conservative commentators have applauded Donald Trump for challenging President Barack Obama on his birth certificate. Conservative author Ann Coulter isn’t one of them.

On Monday night’s “Hannity” on the Fox News Channel, Coulter said the “birther” conspiracy has been long debunked by other conservative outlets.

“Well, I think maybe I’ve been watching too much Charlie Sheen because Donald Trump seems perfectly sane to me,” Coulter said. “I don’t know where he gets this $2 million Obama has spent to keep his birth certificate — he posted his birth certificate on his web page. I am glad that Donald Trump is bringing it up so that people who haven’t been paying attention and don’t know that the American Spectator, Human Events, Fox News – you know, every conservative outlet has already shot down this rumor, which by the way, was started by the Hillary Clinton campaign.”

Coulter said she was unclear as to why the so-called long-form birth certificate had more validity than the other birth certificate Obama has produced. She noted that reputable conservative media outlets won’t touch the story any more and it is regularly reported on by liberal outlets.

“Now they will have a chance to find out this is Donald Trump’s Pierre Salinger moment,” Coulter said. “You can’t believe everything you read on the Internet. Obama has produced his birth certificate. There were announcements that ran in two contemporaneous Hawaiian newspapers at that time. The head of the Hawaiian medical record has announced I have seen the long-form you all want. I don’t know why the long form is considered more credible than the short form. They are both from the same office. The State Department accepts the short form or as we call it the birth certificate. Hawaii accepts the birth certificate short form. So, I mean, it is a conspiracy theory that won’t die on the Internet, but every responsible, conservative organization to look at it and shot it down, which is why you hear it being talked about exclusively on the liberal cable stations.”

If you can judge a person by their friends, what does that say about Coulter and her relationship with Bill Maher?

That they're both entertainers who make a very good living by saying things that piss off some people.

this thread proves the forum is rife with trolls and subversives. You never hear from these people until there is a birther thread they can sink their teeth into.

"Ann is another elitist of the DC cocktail party circuit. Never have liked her phony, snobbish demeanor."

I could put up with her arrogance because she was usually pounding the left unlike all the other so called "conservatives" and Repubikan politicians. It was easy to look past the constant supercilious flick back of her hair and the snobbish tone of voice because she was normally RIGHT all the time.

Ann, who has never been afraid to air the left's dirty laundry and criminal activity is all of a sudden in agreement with the State Run Media and DNC talking points.....WTF, Ann?

Under the supreme law of the land, the President must be a natural born Citizen. Does he act like an American or a foreigner? Does he behave in America's interests, ANN? Or is he in fact anti-American. His actions the past 2 years tell the story.

Ann, if you can't see that this is the most monumental story in American History, the usurpation of the Presidency of the United States. A communist coup backed by Soros and Islamic influences, then you've lost me....and most likely most of your fans. Great swan song. /s

My friend I am not talking about the left, I am talking about independents. Many independents have been persuaded by Trump’s take on the BC issue. Independents would rather be in the camp with Trump then Coulter, Beck or Rove. Why would Ann Coulter’s credibility be destroyed? It would be Obama’s credibility destroyed. The focus would be on him and no one else.

You can’t get a passport using a Certification of Live Birth (COLB).

“When applying for a U.S. passport in person, evidence of U.S. citizenship must be submitted with Form DS-11. All documentation submitted as citizenship evidence will be returned to you. These documents will be delivered with your newly issued U.S. passport or in a separate mailing.

*A certified birth certificate has a registrar’s raised, embossed, impressed or multicolored seal, registrar’s signature, and the date the certificate was filed with the registrar’s office, which must be within 1 year of your birth. Please note, some short (abstract) versions of birth certificates may not be acceptable for passport purposes.”

It’s just a game to them. The more sensational the more $$$$. At the end of the day they are all one, big, happy, cocktail party.

Succinctly and well stated.

Notice what she DOESN’T talk about: his cover-up of ALL his education records from k-12 to university... all of it

Oreilly is doing a story on this tonight. Saw ad on FOX earlier today.

Coulter: Because left-bashing books sell.
Doesn’t mean she IS a conservative.

What's your source that the money is for eligibility?

The law firm Perkins Coie represents Obama in Supreme Court eligibility cases. Here's a screenshot of one of the dockets.

I'd guess people are making connections between the OFA payouts to Perkins Coie and the eligibility cases it defends, assuming Perkins Coie doesn't do eligibility for free.

The amount may not be as much as some claim, but I don't think it's a completely unsubstantiated claim.

Coulter is right 98% of the time to whom?

She's a good writer. But, is she stupid or is she a “Moderate’ portraying herself as a Conservative?

Look at her support of Romney in 2007-2008. Conservatives knew Romney's lack of Conservative credentials. Why didn't Coulter? Now look at Christie, a pro-abortion, Obamacare fence sitting, former Mike Castle supporter who seems to act Conservative on fiscal matters. Does Coulter actually believe Christie is a Conservative?

This issue of Coulter ridiculing those who question Obama’s past is absurd. What she is actually saying goes against whom she claims to be. That is, she apparently is telling us to take Obama and his Media at their words (on this issue). Further, Coulter said (paraphrasing), Conservative groups have already looked into this. Alright Ann, which Conservative groups? What did they find? What about a certain book being released next month by Jerome Corsi?

I don't mean to pick apart someone you like. But realize, she is a writer and entertainer who's made a comfortable life for herself by marketing herself and her act.

Some FReepers down-thread are skeptical of the BC issue. I say, fine, to each his own. They never discuss or voice an opinion about ALL 0b0z0's EO-sealed/hidden records.

The education records will show how an AA, foreign and dumb student graduated from universities or NOT. If he did graduate, what GPAs and other data?

This will collapse the MSM-invented brilliant messiah's myth and 0b0z0 will have to be locked up in a padded room for his own good.

This is one of the most avoided, sealed and glossed over devastating issues that would end 0b0z0's occupancy of the BathHouse in 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in short order.

He seems to be getting his talking points straight from this site and not from any private investigating.

Not only that, he seems to be getting his talking points from this site circa 2008. Do any birthers still say Obama's Grandmother said she was there in Kenya when he was born?

Color me skeptical. In three years of discussing this topic on FR, you're the first person I've ever seen make that claim.

That's because there's always been a ton if misinformation on this site about the COLB. I still have yet to find a State where the original birth certificate is required for a drivers license and a certified electronic copy (like Obama's) isn't accepted.

You mean Trump, the guy who now says he’s considering running as an independent?

I don’t like Romney but at least he’s not actively planning Ross Perot II.

My guess is he’s playing poker with the GOP establishment.

GOP Establishment: drop this birther stuff, or we’ll bar you from debates and make sure you don’t get on any primary ballots.

Trump: Do that, and I’ll run 3rd party.

Trump has got to know that a 3rd party run gurantees Obama wins (and Trump loses the race and tons of money). Trump strikes me as arrogant, but not stupid.

I don't think Little League accepts short form birth certificates. It only accepts long form certificates with the doctor and hospital names on it.

My nephew is in little league and they used a short form certificate to get him in, because that's what the Vital Records Office gave them. The Little League people actually let them scan the document and email it to them.
