3 Things That Are So Darn Right About Donald Trump
Evil Conservative ^ | April 8 2011 | PG

I don't know if Donald Trump is going to actually run for President. If he does, I'm not at all clear on whether I'll support him. In fact, right now my vote is Sarah Palin's to lose, but all of the attention being focused on The Donald's possible run for office shouldn't distract conservatives for appreciating what's really going on. What's really going on is that Donald Trump is performing a great service for our nation, and I, for one, want to thank him.

The Donald's increasingly intense attacks on Obama's (in)eligibility for office, and the questions surrounding his past, are putting pressure on the media spin machine that has tried so hard to keep this story under wraps. What's fascinating to me is that, of the 300-or-so-million people who inhabit the United States, a very precious few have the ability to do what he's doing right now, and here's a few reasons why...

Trump is not conservative. He's simply a ruthless capitalist but a social liberal.

I agree.

The Dems will do ANYTHING to win and since Trump has admitted his fondness/like for Hillary I fully believe he is working with the Dems to wind up being another Ross Perot so they can divide the Republicans and get Obama his second term.

We are all entitled to change over time, or are we doomed to remain what we once were?

The man has made some legitimate changes, his position on Abortion for one. He deserves credit for having the honesty of admit it and then actually change it.

Thanks...A cursory look, it appears this guy would be ally regarding our lawless borders and endless violent invasion from Mexico and it's disrespectful people.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Trump:

Control borders; even legal immigration should be difficult America is experiencing serious social and economic difficulty with illegal immigrants who are flooding across our borders. We simply can’t absorb them. It is a scandal when America cannot control its own borders.

A liberal policy of immigration may seem to reflect confidence and generosity. But our current laxness toward illegal immigration shows a recklessness and disregard for those who live here legally.

The majority of legal immigrants can often make significant contributions to our society because they have special skills and because they add to our nation’s cultural diversity. They come with the best of intentions. But legal immigrants do not and should not enter easily.

It comes down to this: we must take care of our own people first.

Our policy to people born elsewhere should be clear: Enter by the law, or leave.

No way. No one that ever supported John Kerry over George Bush will get my vote. He called bush the worst US president. He is worst than a RINO - he is a hard core dem. Trump should run for mayor of some podunk town if he wants to get into politics. He hasn’t a clue.

Trump is a buffoon, a name, image, cliche and symbolism with a huge inflated ego........

Sounds like what is currently residing in the White House.

.........and the fact that he's the #2 choice for conservatives in polling says something horrible about the conservative voter.........

I didn't see the poll numbers saying it was among conservatives, just republicans and there is a big difference. I know plenty of liberals who are registered republicans, I also know a bunch of registered democrats that are as conservative as I am.

I can't say at this point if I would support Trump in the primaries, however I do support the effort he is making to do the work that should have been done back in 2007/08, but wasn't. And I'm not even talking about the BC stuff, just the fact that this guy residing in the WH is one great big mystery.

During his interview with O'Reilly, Trump stated that he would put troops on the Mexican border.

The Donald recently did an interview with Human Events newspaper. He gave a wide-ranging account of his current views. The highlights can be read here: Trump Unplugged. The whole interview can be read here: Can Donald Trump Save America? There are also videos of the interview at the site.

Didn’t think of that.

Can’t debate you, you’re right!

I agree in your other points as well.

Thanks. I wasn’t trying to be “right” just saying how I saw it.

Someone who can get the attention of the LSM had to do it, it just so happens that it is Trump. More power to him.

It’s a shame that it comes down to the lowest common denominator, but unfortunately it is a fact of life that if the LSM is avoiding/ignoring something, the vast majority of “voters” know nothing about it. My 12yo knows more about what is really going on than many of the “voters” we know, and she attends public school. Her parents being FReepers probably has something to do with that :) It’s pretty funny when she yells at some lib on the TV before I do!

Donald Trump does not have a “willingness to fight the evil libs.”

Donald Trump has a willingness to spot movement and cash in on it. He has zero record of advancing conservative principles.

This is not hard to understand. Why do so many who appear to be on our side refuse to see the fact that Trump is a liberal? Does supporting Hillary, John Kerry and government-run universal healthcare somehow make his liberalism invisible to you?

Whoa, there.

Palin should have Bachmann, West or Scott Walker for vp on her ticket. Palin beats Trump on pretty much every relevant quality: honesty, conservatism, bravery, willingness to fight, intelligence, and charisma. (The list is potentially endless.)

Does opposing Obama seem invisible to YOU?

I didn't say Trump was a conservative. I said he loves America, he does see the desperate financial situation we're in, and he knows that Obama is a fraud. That's a good starting point.

Opposing Obama means opposing Obamacare.

And opposing socialism.

And opposing the tyrannical encroachment of the Obama regime.

Trump needs to oppose Obama’s attempted internal overthrow of our Constitution, and explain in detail why he opposes it.

When did Trump articulate his philosophical position on policy, showing he can think about these things on a level deeper than the scheming of a used car salesman?

Unless we see evidence of a life-changing epiphany that has completely overturned Trump’s prior liberal views, his birther move is nothing but a staged act by a professional salesman.

I don’t know if Donald Trump is going to actually run for President. If he does, I’m not at all clear on whether I’ll support him. In fact, right now my vote is Sarah Palin’s to lose, but all of the attention being focused on The Donald’s possible run for office shouldn’t distract conservatives for appreciating what’s really going on. What’s really going on is that Donald Trump is performing a great service for our nation, and I, for one, want to thank him.

The Donald’s increasingly intense attacks on Obama’s (in)eligibility for office, and the questions surrounding his past, are putting pressure on the media spin machine that has tried so hard to keep this story under wraps. What’s fascinating to me is that, of the 300-or-so-million people who inhabit the United States, a very precious few have the ability to do what he’s doing right now, and here’s a few reasons why:

1. Donald Trump, love him or hate him, is truly independent. neither his self-esteem, or his income are dependent upon staying in the media’s good graces. He can say what he wants, when he wants, and has no reason to fear for what NBC, or any other media entity for that matter, can do to him.

2. Donald Trump has pop culture credibility. He’s been a network TV star on his own show, and for much longer than that he’s been a media favorite. It’s really hard for the media to dismiss him as a crackpot or a racist. It’s hard to do a 180 on a genius declaration, and suddenly start calling him a redneck moron.

3. Donald Trump is a blue-state NYer, and his name is all over the city here. He has popular culture capital, and he seems ready to spend it on a crusade to ensure our president is constitutionally eligible. There are tons of people talking about Obama’s eligibility HERE IN NYC... and that is unheard-of. Donald Trump has singlehandedly taken the “ignorant”, “racist” and “redneck” associations out of birtherism.

Last night I went to the 20th Anniversary of Chabad Port Washington, on Long Island. At this festive and celebratory event, the local Jewish community was opening a new gym for the neighborhood. At dinner I sat next to a friend of mine; a politically active Democrat attorney, and guess what we talked about?

If the issue of Obama’s (in)eligibility was ever going to break from the shadows and come to the forefront, it can only happen with a champion to push it forward, through the media onslaught, and liberal hatred and character assassination. Donald Trump is the right man for that job, whether he decides to run or not. Thanks Donald!

This guy is dead on-—indeed, I said almost exactly the same thing in posts here on FR. Trump has something else: whatever his “social issues” are, he loves America. Anything he does, it will be because like another flawed president, TR, he loves America. That’s 180 degrees off from the guy who is in there now.

You can say that again.
