(Apr. 3, 2011) — It has been reported that the image of Obama’s purported Certification of Live Birth has been removed or is otherwise unavailable from the website of Factcheck.org as of April 3, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. EDT.
The image still appears on Obama’s “Fight the Smears” website from 2008. Under the image there is a submission with Factcheck’s logo which reads:
When Barack Obama Jr. was born on Aug. 4,1961, in Honolulu, Kenya was a British colony, still part of the United Kingdom’s dwindling empire. As a Kenyan native, Barack Obama Sr. was a British subject whose citizenship status was governed by The British Nationality Act of 1948. That same act governed the status of Obama Sr.‘s children.
Since Sen. Obama has neither renounced his U.S. citizenship nor sworn an oath of allegiance to Kenya, his Kenyan citizenship automatically expired on Aug. 4,1982.

It’s not embarrassing to me at all. Why would one be embarrassed asking the #1 question a majority of Americans are asking? YES, MAJORITY! It’s a simple question. Does he meet the qualifications for being president of the United States? The answer is already, NO, he isn’t. His father was a Kenyan citizen and he can NEVER be more than a native born American if in fact he was born in Hawaii. Which HE OBVIOUSLY CANNOT PROVE or he would’ve already done so. He was obviously born in Kenya as his grandmother said, or he was born at home and his mother and grandparents got no proof of his birth because they knew they could just register his birth themselves without any proof whatsoever at that time in Hawaii, which they could do even if he was born in Kenya. So he has no proof whatsoever, or he has a registered Kenyan long form birth certificate. Which is it? I’m not embarrassed at all to ask. I should be able to ask to see his back teeth if I want to. He is my employee!
Well, honestly... at this point even if he did produce a Hawaiian long form, none of you would believe him or it... so why should he?
Again, it’s a bit like the Air Force dumping all it’s documents related to UFO investigations yet the skeptic still accuse them, the CIA and everyone inbetween of a grand conspiracy.
Everyone of you know it, if he or anyone else for that matter produced a Hawaiian long form tomorrow every single one of you would claim it to be fake, just like his short form.
The only one you’ll accept as real will be the one that gets him impeached, from Kenya or Indonesia... Whichever

Well, honestly, you don't know the debate very well if you really believe what you just said. There are several factions and flavors of eligibility theory, and they are all on display here at FR, and some of them do not even care where he was physically born. It’s true.
BTW, "Birther" is a pejorative, designed to mislead people into thinking incorrectly about the issue. The central question is not the birth certificate, but eligibility to be POTUS per the Constitution. That's why I try to avoid perpetuating the "birther" tag and use "eligibility" instead.
Anyway, if you had any in-depth knowledge of the legal and evidentiary issues us "eligibility doubters" routinely kick around, you would know we are interested in far more than the BC. We care about his parents’ citizenship status. We want to see how he represented his national affiliation in his several schools and on his passport. We want to know why no living person has any direct knowledge of his infancy and youth. We want to know why we can't even get at his LSAT scores. This is a remarkable obscuration of personal history, unlike any previous president, and unlike your "Men from Mars smear," it is reasonable to believe it means something. Fraud is not an alien phenomenon.
As for what happens if a long form BC is finally produced, yes, it will be scrutinized intensely, as well it should. The thing about dealing with fraud is that once you've started down that path, you can hardly ever regain the trust of the people you have deceived. We know, beyond dispute, that the multiple variations of the COLB cannot all be the same document, even if the "original" was legitimate. We know, beyond dispute, that Obama is willing to see one of our finest soldiers go to prison rather than respond to a simple, uncontroversial discovery request. Therefore we know there is motivation to commit further fraud to perpetuate the obscurity. So yes, anything he produces now, even if totally legitimate, and even if it completely exonerates his legitimacy under the NBC rule, would still be held to a level of scrutiny unlike any before it, and with good cause. He has made this bed, and he must sleep in it.
Having said that, you speak only out of your own imagination when you slight us all by suggesting we do not care about the evidence as a path to truth. It is problems in the evidence, and a serious, honest inquiry into those problems, that has brought us to this place. The only way back now … is revelation, thoroughly verified by those who have earned the right not to trust.

Obama might very well have a CLB from Hawaii. There’s a statute for Hawaii that allows those born outside the state or territory to obtain a birth certificate if a parent was a resident. That’s why we need to see — and never will see — the long form.

At the time of Obama’s birth in 1961, parents could rather easily get a Hawaiian birth certificate for a baby who wasn’t born in Hawaii.
1. Aug. 4, 1961 — Obama supposedly born in Hawaii in Kapiolani hospital.
2. Aug. 5, 1961 — Nordyke twins born in Hawaii in same Kapiolani hospital. Copies of long form birth certificates are on internet.
3. Aug. 8, 1961 — Obama’s birth certificate is filed with Hawaii vital statistics, if we are to believe what we see on Obama’s short form birth certificate that we see all over the internet.
4. Aug. 11, 1961 — Nordyke twins birth certificate filed with Hawaii vital statistics.
5. 10641 — Obama number on short form birth certificate that we see all over the internet.
6. 10638 — Nordyke twin number on top of long form birth certificate.
7. 10637 — Nordyke twin number on top of long form birth certificate we see on internet.
8. Huh? What is going here that does NOT smell right? Why does Obama’s certificate have a HIGHER number than the Nordyke twins’ certificates, when the Obama certificate was filed 3 days EARLIER: Aug. 8 vs. Aug. 11.
9. So, if Obama’s birth certificate was filed on Aug. 8, then it should have a LOWER filing number than the Nordyke twins’ birth certificates that were filed on Aug. 11.
12. But as we can see above, Obama’s birth certificate received a HIGHER number-—10641-—than the Nordyke twins-—10637 and 10638.
13. Something does not smell right concerning why Obama’s number is greater than the Nordyke twins.
14. I wish that the Nordyke twins would demand that Hawaii officials explain why they received LOWER numbers than Obama. They obviously have so-called “standing” to ask questions about their own Hawaii birth certificates.

I’ve seen Hawaiian listed on several birth certificates. They are also lobbying Congress to be deemed a tribe (casinos?).
But you raise another point: AFRICAN was not one of the race designations available in 1961. Would have been “Negro” — standard term of the era.
