Thank you for sharing your insights, dear brother in Christ!
Nice job, you blog whore.
Your site froze my computer.
I don’t see many movies either - this one came from the 1980s I think. Interesting stuff on this thread - your post on free will was intriguing.
Thanks for your kind words.
my perspective, imho, of course.
LOL.
“Judge Judy, the presenters have started off speaking properly but have then descended into undecipherable nonsense - looking confused and unstable.”
Frankly, I wouldn’t have even noticed any difference.
I agree, the end time deception will indeed be great!
2 Thessalonians 2:3 (New American Standard Bible) 3 Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,
I recently heard that the normal translation from the Greek of this word apostasy, or falling away in other English translations, in this verse is debatable.. more like taking away instead of falling away? I am not a Greek scholar so I am not sure and I thought I would ask on FR when your post reminded me of it.
for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first,
They cant fall away unless they were there first.
No disagreement with that.
I don’t see that the one necessarily has to do with the other, however.
One can fall away without losing one’s free-will.
Just remember, demonic influence and possession are characterized by the same behavior. This implies that if this is happening, there has been an effort to counterfeit the role of the Holy Spirit within the thinking processes of man. The parties counterfeiting this in the past has been the domain of fallen angels, but if made accessible to humans, would be akin to disrespecting human volition by interrupting the primary activity in their thought patterns.
In the OT, the dwelling place of God was the Sacred Temple, a sanctified building/dwelling place.
In the Church Age, the dwelling place is in the human spirit of every believer. If another human is able to stand in that dwelling place, it would defile His Temple.
Correct,...and we do.
There is another important aspect of volition in the Church Age. In order to be forgiven righteously AFTER we sin, by our volition we must face Him, and confess our sin to Him.
The reason for bowing our heads when we pray is privacy, not piety. In the privacy of our thinking, focusing on God and what He provided on the Cross, we are able to faithfully communicate with Him. It is still possible to pray to Him, but imagine how that prayer might be interrupted by a gang of grade-schoolers running around the sanctuary as you pray, playing games, being obnoxious, rude, inconsiderate, and insulting, attempting to divert your thinking towards them.
If these things are human caused, then it would be akin to such behavior and violating the privacy of the person seeking God. It also would infringe upon the protocol He has established between Him and the individual believer.
If the out-of-fellowship believer were unable to pray to God per 1stJohn 1:9, he would remain out of fellowship. If this occurred on a wide scale attack, it could result in a Great Apostasy.
Thank You Alamo-Girl, Dr Thomas Ice is the only one, I can find, who said this may be the case. The key would be what was Paul thinking when he wrote the verse. I tend to think he thought what we all think when we hear the word apostasy. i.e. a falling away not departure.
Thank You for your insight. I think my question is answered.
More than plausible points, for sure.
