CNN tends to shy away from dripping sarcasm and heavy-handed writing, but that didn’t stop Carol Costello from calling Donald Trump “a joke” in a “Talk Back” segment dealing with Trump’s recent comments about President Obama’s birth–and his own. “In the 2012 presidential election, at least one potential candidate is shaping up to be a joke. It’s likely the economy will still be struggling and we’ll be at war in at least two countries, but what do we get? Donald Trump.”
Costello, alerting viewers that “Donald Trump is not likely to become president, despite what the polls say,” asks “is it time to fire Donald Trump, right out of the political arena?”
Later, in a discussion with CNN’s Suzanne Malveaux, Costello dismissed the “joke” candidate’s comments about the president’s childhood, including Trump’s suggestion that “nobody” remembered him from his school days. Malveaux said she’d interviewed people who did, in fact, remember the president.
Costello called the Trump comments “ridiculous” and proceeded to mock Trump’s release this week of a birth document from Jamaica Hospital. “Mr. Trump proudly presented what he thought was his own birth certificate, except, it wasn’t. It was a hospital birthing record. Oops.” Costello fails to mention that Trump did, in fact, release his birth certificate yesterday. Oops?

Insults are not likely to deter Trump, he’s not a wimpy politician type. He’ll just sharpen his blade.

I assume Carol Costello thinks the constitution is a joke. I’ll bet she’s all for banning guns too (during Obama’s second term of course).
This really is becoming upside down world. And you know, it is quite a funny thing that nobody ever actually saw ANY of those interviews she did with people who knew Obama.

Arnold could run for President and his only issue is "if he can refuse to prove he was born in the USA...then I can refuse".

Unfortunately, I think this question was directed at the media in general. Just like they crowed and brayed over their victory, post Watergate, they now realize that they in fact DO have the power to be “King-Makers”, as well as Destroyers.
So, prepare for the media blitz - the Trumping of Trump. They are doing well with the Pillorying of Palin...
Funny , this nobody thinks Trump is a joke. Soon she will be another worthless old bag that will go down without a ripple.
I would not be surprised at all to see her life take a mysterious, nonspecific, downturn in ways she cannot foresee or even imagine.

It must have been a real hoot back in the 30s and 40s watching morons like Costello defending Hitler and Stalin in the “media” in this country.
But they can't. They may attempt it, but they can't.
All politicians come to us as blank slates. Unfortunately because of the laziness of much of the electorate, candidates get defined by the media, which is still heavily Leftist. But Trump is a known quantity to everyone. The media cannot define him for us. He is completely immune to the MSM. AND THIS DRIVES THEM CRAZY.
Look for more spitting and sputtering from the media as Trump's "birther" campaign continues.

These aren’t my “hopes”. But let’s face it, if the media have the power to install a non natural-born Marxist in the world’s highest office, both sides will have to pull out all the stops.
I’m hoping that Trump will hit these clowns with a number of massive law suits. The Media are mostly idiots, and they will screw up Big Time along the way...
