God, in Jesus Holy Name, as it is He that is in charge of events. It is he that decides who will become a nation's leader. We are all wise to put Him first praying and fasting for our nation and doing His will in our lives. Without His favor we as a nation might as well hang it up.

Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

Psa 75:7 But God [is] the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

Dan 4:35 And all the inhabitants of the earth [are] reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and [among] the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

Dan 2:21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

Zec 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This [is] the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

Jer 27:5 'I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are on the ground, by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and have given it to whom it seemed proper to Me.

Isa 59:19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

I could point you to piles of polls on the favorable/unfavorable ratings of Palin out there...

Well, don't let my skepticism stop you. You've got something to back up what you're saying, by all means, put it on the table.

Just realize that most of the Palin polls that show her doing poorly among voters, have been conducted by outfits who are either hired by, or connected at the hip to lib/Dem institutions and groups. This has been shown to be true time and time again on this forum.

Whenever polling firms have conducted honest assessments of how the center-right public feels about Palin, she stands head and shoulders above the rest of the field.

We can sit here and argue about all this until the cows come home, but it's really not productive. We're all just going to have to see what happens during the primary. My bet is that Palin will walk away with the nomination, should she choose to run. If she doesn't, then I think it'll be a crap shoot, because she's the only one in the field who naturally leads the pack.

...we need a strong candidate who has morals, will be good for us, can’t be maligned by the MSM and can win that popularity contest.

Such a candidate does not exist. The MSM will malign ANY Republican who dares to oppose Obama for the presidency.

Sarah Palin has withstood every shot they've fired at her - for over TWO YEARS, and is standing taller and prouder than she was, when this all began. There is literally NOTHING left for the MSM to do, except continue calling her names and belittling her - which has had NO effect on her standing as a potential candidate.

She is undergoing the same assault that Reagan weathered, when he challenged Carter in 1980.

Of all the reasons you could cite for us to take a pass on Sarah Palin, the media attacks against her are the least consequential. They're going to attack our nominee, no matter who it is, but Palin is the ONLY one they're attacking PRIOR to the election. You need to stop for a moment and ask yourself why.

Your right, they are going to TRY to attack any republican nominee. But they stay on her because they MUST. She is still a political force to be reckoned with and after the smashing they gave her when she ran as VP they can not afford to ever let up on her. Mark my words, if she runs, they will make the last bashing she got look like they were being kind.

>Such a candidate does not exist. The MSM will malign ANY Republican who dares to oppose Obama for the presidency. <

WRONG. Alan West is the one who could easily get away without being bashed. Need I even begin to say why?

He would defeat Obama in a landslide.

Yeah, believe everything the MSM tells you to.

Let me guess, Obama will be hard to beat, too.

Nice try; better go tell Cass Sunstein he's not getting his money's worth out of you.

Cheers!

Sorry, troll-boy. In the United States, people vote their wallet.

All Palin has to do during the debate is look the camera in the eye, and say, "Remember four years ago, when you had a house and a job and could afford the gas for a real car?"

Case closed.

Read your tagline.

All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent or mindlessly parrot the talking points promoted by evil, like you are.

Ergo, you're a troll.

QED.

because I don’t agree with your pie in the sky attitude of we can win .. right up to the point we end up with another four years of Obama .. I’m a troll.

grow up. Your being spoon fed nonsense that any of those people on that list stand a chance of beating Obama when in fact, NO ONE there does.

With FRiends like you we don’t need liberals.

What we need is a REAL conservative who can beat Obama. Not who you like .. not who you think would be good. It comes down to picking our own leader, not who the MSM is telling us we need to pick from.

OK, maybe you're not a troll.

But if not, then you're just plain, garden variety incorrect.

The MSM is *lying* -- about Palin, about Obama, about everything.

It's desperation time for them: Obaba was supposed to be their ace in the hole, their Messiah, who would sweep in the glorious progressive future.

Remember? "This was the moment the planet began to heal."

The Nobel Peace Prize...for literally NOTHING.

He passed healthcare.

He was going to restore the economy.

He was going to repair America's damaged reputation in the world after the cowboy antics of Chimpy Bushitler.

And all the rest.

When dealing with liberals, you have to remember two things.

One. They're governed by emotions and utopian thinking, rather than logic and reality.

Two. They lie -- to themselves, and to all others. And they are so narcissistic, so childish, that when what they say does not match reality, it is reality which is untrue.

And so they project all of their own hatred, all of their own misogyny, all of their racism, greed, lust, anger, and the rest, onto conservatives.

Just a couple of pithy examples, once the principle is established you'll be able to recognize the pattern for yourself.

Rosalyn Carter said of Ronald Reagan, "He makes us comfortable with with our prejudices." [Americans, especially liberals who otherwise know better]

...but it was her husband, Jimmy Dhimmi Carter, who consorted with Arafat and Hamas.

In the aftermath of the Jared Loughner shooting in Tucson, the meme (launched within hours of the shooting) was that Sarah Palin had enabled a "climate of hate" with her extremist rhetoric and bulls-eyes on maps of "targeted" Congressional districts, and Loughner was an unstable, easily motivated right-winger.

Then, when the facts came out, that Loughner was a literal nutcase who had been thrown off campus as a threat, that he had been reported to the Sheriff's Office (Sheriff Dupnik, who was one of the main sources blaming Palin in public, while admitting he had not evidence)...but that the Sheriff had done nothing since one of Loughner's relatives was a politically connected County employee?

Sarah Palin made a brief video about this (despite having had her phone ringing off the hook for days, by reporters asking for her take on it.) -- in which she spent mabye two or three sentences out of a seven-minute video talking about how people blamed her --

and the response was "How dare she make herself the center of attention, and offend the JOOOOOOOOOS by using the term 'blood libel' !"

...and then there was the memorial rally in Tucson, where one of the unions passed out "Together We Thrive" T-shirts.

Can you recall ANYWHERE else in recorded history where anyone EVER passed out T-shirts AT A FREAKING FUNERAL??!!!

...but that was quietly passed over in favor of generating controversy over Palin.

Yes, that was a long example, but it was necessary -- to show the kind of personally destructive, over-the-top-more-so-than-Bush vicious HATRED towards Palin which is being pumped 24x7.

And that is important for two reasons.

Actually, three.

The first one is an illustration of why she can win.

WTF?

Yes, win.

The reason this is true is -- why are they still attacking her? She's not even governor of a two-bit state anymore; she's a freaking housewife with five children, not on the government payroll; she is no in a powerful appointed position in DC; she was at the bottom of a losing Presidential ticket. Nobody had a nationwide campaign of hate against Dan Quayle (despite the Murphy Brown single motherhood fracas, which history proved him right about) once he left DC; nobody trashed Dole and Kemp after they lost to Bill Clinton; even Reagan was rehabilitated after a fashion by the time of his funeral.(*)

The second reason is that -- if Palin is so passé (since Palin is a woman, maybe that should be passée?) -- if she is, then why does she have two New York Times bestsellers? Why did she have a cable-TV show which drew five million viewers its first episode? (Take that, MSNBC!) Why is she *still* drawing enthusiastic crowds when she goes to speak, and why was she given an audience with Netanyahu in Israel? BTW, Bibi has a Masters' from the Sloan School of Management at MIT. Since Sarah is a private citizen, he didn't owe her recognition -- and if you look at the photos, I don't see any contempt for her in his eyes, on his face, or within his body posture.

And the third reason is -- Palin is an embodiment of the American "can-do" spirit: she started out as a housewife, and rose through the ranks of the school board, City Council, Mayor, Governor, and Vice Presidential Candidate. She is the antithesis of both the "my turn" party hacks like Dole, and the over-credentialed dorm-room theorists like Obama. This is EXACTLY what people say they want, instead of the overly slick politicians we keep on getting.

And she loves America, too. It's written all over her face, it comes out in her voice every time she speaks.

And one last thing: it is not that there is a fawning crowd of Palin *worshipers* here. It is that decent people are standing up to defend a decent, personable, courageous, patriotic fellow citizen from the politics of personal destruction, dished out by East Coast sycophants and a mob of hateful, deranged vermin who are unworthy even to lick Levi Johnston's soiled jockstrap clean. (Is that you, Bill Maher? Andrew Sullivan? Letterman making jokes about Palin's daughter suffering statutory rape by a professional athlete? SNL implying incest in the Palin Household in a skit?)

Incidentally -- the last three lines of your post are a real study in cognitive dissonance: and in such a way they tend to substantiate my view of you as a troll.

"What we need is a REAL conservative who can beat Obama. "

Sarah IS a real conservative: pro-life, lived out by having to support a "burdensome, poor quality of life" special-needs child, not armchair theorizing, she put her money, her time, and her life where her mouth is.

Strong on defense.

Supporting energy independence, and according to her own book, Going Rogue she is consciously, explicitly adopting strategies and techniques from Ronald Reagan.

A fiscal conservative.

One who wants real energy independence: unlike the lip service paid by candidates since Dhimmi Jimmy Carter.

"Not who you like .. not who you think would be good."

Why SHOULDN'T I support someone I like, someone I think should be good? Maybe I should let Frum and Karl Rove choose for me? Oh, that's right. In America, ANYONE can grow up to be President, as long as they went to Harvard, Yale, or Princeton?

"It comes down to picking our own leader, not who the MSM is telling us we need to pick from."

Are you going to stand there with a straight face, and try to hold your head erect among honorable human beings, and suggest it is the *MSM* who is telling us that we need to pick Palin? Are you out of your f*rnicating MIND???!!!!!

Cheers!

Sorry palinista....but the job crisis was in full swing well before the stain took office.

Palin isn't going to run. And if she does, she'll not win the nomination.

I know the truth hurts...keep a stiff upper lip; be brave. It'll only hurt for a little while.

Oh, I think I'm getting what you're saying. I don't think you picked up on what I meant by the Clarence Thomas reference.

While I agree with you that Allen West would chew Obama up and spit him out, he's not going to wind up on a stage debating him for the presidency in 2012. Just ain't gonna happen, for multiple reasons.

If (gargantuan if) West somehow did wind up in that unlikely position, the left would give him the deluxe Clarence Thomas Treatment. The leftstream MSM would blow him up into a war criminal, and a radical right-wing extremist of the First Order. Let's not even start on what black journalists would say about him.

Any Republican who challenges The One for the presidency is going to be flamed by the liberal media and the Democrats, but they reserve special treatment for blacks who stray from the reservation.

Sorry palinista....but the job crisis was in full swing well before the stain took office.

Look at the time series -- the jobs fell off a cliff once it was clear Obama and the Dems were going to control the Executive and Legislative branches.

Business does NOT like extra taxes and regulation.

Palin isn't going to run. And if she does, she'll not win the nomination.

Heh. If she's not going to run, why are there so many trolls on FR and all the conservative sites, quoting from people like Frum, Rove, and Krauthammer, that "she has no chance" ...?

Obviously, they are afraid of a principled, honest conservative who will clean house of all the sycophants, RINOs, hangers-on, accomodationists, leeches, tapeworms, and other pararsites.

And that the difference will be so obvious, that it will be like Reagan-Carter all over again.

Nice try, though.

Cheers!

Jeb Bush. Because he can pull in 30-35% of the Hispanic vote, which none of the others can. The Bush name might send Leftists and social conservatives alike into a frenzy, but moderates are starting to realize old GWB's administration looks pretty good about now.

The stage is set for him to announce late and win the nomination by creating a sense of inevitability, the way McCain did in 2008. Except Jeb can actually handle himself on TV well enough to overcome Obama's NLP techniques and vote fraud machine.

I'm of the opinion the Left makes the most angry noise about the candidates they most want to run against, hoping to energize conservatives to support them in the primaries. They've been dead silent about Jeb Bush.
