"Out of the closet"? You mean, along with all their other flaws, NPR is gay too???
NPR was barely in the closet to begin with & they were outed by sleuth reporting.
This the wrong solution. The airwaves belong to the public. All those TV and radio frequencies should be pulled. The left side of radio band should “emancipated” from the yoke on FM government-public radio, that is, “In the United States, the twenty channels with center frequencies of 88.191.9 MHz (channels 201220) constitute the reserved band, exclusively for non-commercial and educational (NCE) stations.”
Devise a fair system of allocating the once-government frequencies, for instance, Clear Channel Communications can have one more radio station in America. George Soros can have one more station.
Those people who fund NPR and CPB can have one radio or television station, pick one. Fund a small government office to make sure new owners aren’t “beards” for corporations. Education institutions would be encouraged to use digital radio channels, for profit.
In other words, ban government broadcasting. If the government has built a popular show, it should be auctioned to the winning bidder who pays off other stockholders. All government buildings, towers and other assets to be auctioned, preferably to the lottery winners of frequencies.
No more government “news.”
