Nicholas Kristof: living proof that it’s possible to be highly-educated yet utterly naive. NY Times columnist criticizes American “paranoia” about Islamic fundamentalism. Ping to Today show list.

Among the Elites, there always seems to be a strain of those who would just appease and ultimately surrender to the Enemy. This was true for Nazism, Communism, and (now) Islamic Fundamentalism. I suspect that part of it is an aversion to Democracy, which (to them) is a messy, dirty business. Much better to have an ideology that allows one to govern by decree or editorial.

The delusion is strong, such that no amount of formal education or travel would permit truth to prevail in the mind of the deluded.

30 days or less after the fundamentalists take over, his head and his shoulders will have parted company.

Anti Christian/Jewish bigot. His whole career is about apologizing for every religion on Earth except the Judeo/Christian tradition.

His thrust is usually something like, yes they are primitives. yes they are murderers. yes the oppress women. But, but, Christianity is just as BAD! And maybe it was at one time, say the sixteenth century perhaps. This is like digging up old slavery laws to prove how evil America is. Dude, lets not dwell so much on how it was centuries ago. Lets focus on how it is today for a fair comparison.

It is the typical teenage rebellion syndrome you see with most Liberals. Everything at home is bad. Everything else is good. (but mom! i love the motorcycle guy with the leather jacket and the tattoos! I don't care that he just got out of prison! He will change for me, I know it.)

And they say this stuff with the surety that a Christian will not wait outside their house to cut their or one of their family members’ head off or blow up their car like some religion would do if criticized.

Cowards all.

Liberals also told us not to fear communism, nazis and terrorists in the past.

They were wrong and still are wrong.

Nothing to fear there... World conquest, Sharia law, beheadings, stonings, suicide bombers, airliner bombings/hijacking.... When Khruschev said We will bury you, we took it seriously. I believe that now, nothing short of a nuclear attack on the US homeland would make the leftist apologists shut the hell up!

Can a total idiot be elected president?

It is amazing the denial of the facts. Radical Islam is diametrically opposed to Western values, and whether we want to admit it or not Islam as a whole has been at war with the west for over 1000 years now.

Kristof needs to educate himself with the definition of the word secular, and then attempt to apply it to Iran or The Muslim Brotherhood...

Liberalism affects the brain. The first thing to go is grasp on reality.

“Arguing that “Mao’s legacy is not all bad,” (idiot)Kristof pays tribute to Mao’s successes with land reform and women’s rights. “Land reform in China,” he writes, “like land reform in Japan and Taiwan, helped lay the groundwork for prosperity today.”

What he doesn’t say is that land reform in Japan and Taiwan was accomplished without the slaughter of millions of people.

Regarding women’s rights, Kristof asserts that Mao “moved China from one of the worst places in the world to be a girl to one where women have more equality than in, say, Japan or Korea.”

The perfect example of this enhanced equality, perhaps, is that the Chinese government has just banned (Chang & Halliday’s) new book on Mao, for both men and women.”

“Q. Can a Harvard Phi Beta Kappa and Rhodes Scholar, who has traveled to 150 countries and speaks Arabic, Chinese and Japanese, be hopelessly naive about foreign policy?”

Bet on it. First of all, speaking different languages doesn’t make one a genius. Neither does visiting other countries. Second, it must be remembered that we all have a finite amount of time on our hands. When we use that time to almost exclusively feed ourselves information with a specific bias (e.g. liberal academic ideology) we ensure we will remain ignorant in other areas. Rather than being surprised by academic ignorance, one should expect it. It’s predictable.

Kristof epitomizes what is common among many elite libs: the educated person who really doesn’t know or understand much of anything. Also known as a brilliant idiot. They were quite common too during the rise of the Bolsheviks promising their compatriots that they had seen the future, and it was soviet-style communism. We know how that turned out.
