Palin is Running, and She’ll Get Creamed
The Constitution Club ^ | 02-12-11 | Dave the Sage

It does appear that former governor and GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah “you betcha” Palin will be throwing her beauty pageant sash into the presidential ring. She has added veteran Republican strategist Michael Glassner to serve as chief-of-staff for her political action committee, Sarah PAC, and steer her political operation. For the political insiders this is the strongest indication yet that Sarah Palin is seriously laying the groundwork for a serious bid for the white house. Unfortunately, she is probably the most disastrous of the current crop of possible GOP hopefuls and in my humble opinion would stand absolutely no chance in the general election. I will even venture to say that I don’t think she’ll make it out of the primaries. She is mistaking the general support the Right gives her as a person of character and cheerleader Tea Party as political support for a presidential bid. I submit to you the two are not the same and she will find this out the hard way. And if by some miracle she were to get the nod to lead the Republican party into the next general election we will witness a most embarrassing of electoral trouncings since Mondale got crushed by Reagan.

I defend Palin vigorously from the hatred and smears from the Left and admire her commitment to what is right and true. For the most part I share her politics, values, and ideology. And I think she makes a great fundraiser and cheerleader for the Right in general and the Tea Party in particular. But she had her chance for glory and success on the national stage and frankly blew it.

I know. We sure are letting the Left run us. Right into their hands.

As of right now, with the polling data that we have, this is what a Palin v. Obama matchup looks like (Red=Obama (Communist) and Blue=Palin on this map):

Even here, Palin only had a 1 point lead in TEXAS.

We have better options. We even have more Conservative options. (Herman Cain for example.)

“It’s a conservative magazine.”

By some writer named “Dave The Sage”

If he has such a great opinion, why doesn’t he use his real name? Why does he hide behind a fake name? What is he afraid of?

Could it be that if he writes under his real name, it will expose who he writing this on behalf of? Me thinks so.

Dave The Sage, give us your real name. Don’t be a coward, like the masters you work for!

That comment was in regard to the “American Spectator”, who had a poll that Sarah won.

“Personally, I think Michelle Bachmann would be a great President.”

The problem with that is that she would become the target... Any conservative candidate would.

The only alternative for deep thinkers like you is to nominate a RINO.

Uhhh... If you believe Obama would be competitive in Texas... check the math on all of your polls.

Even that idiot McCain won TX by double digits in 2008.

At this point, she hasn’t announced. Leave the prevarication until a concrete platform is laid out. Until then, you’re barking up the wrong tree. Most of the “toying with it” crowd are just that, nothing more. They exist, insofar as the race is concerned, to apply leverage one way or another. Don’t you think that we can wait until there are actual candidates before we toss them on their ears? By the time we get to genuine folks running for office, we’ll have spent twenty man-years figuring which one has the best recipe for stuffing, or who knows what? Seriously, wait until there are actual, announced candidacies, with platforms, then figure which ones might be good for the country, and which ones are good for the golf course. No offense meant, but sheesh.

If Palin does manage to be nominated, this will simple be a repeat of Sharron Angle, Ken Buck and Christine O’Donnell disasters, only at the national level.

Avoidable disasters because they were spurned by the elitist GOP establishment. Those candidates were fine. The Republican party insiders were the spoilers. Both of you seem to side with the elitists.

I wonder what the Liberals would say if the Death Penalty allowed for scissors in the back of the head? surely that’s not inhumane?
