Indeed, Christie has stated he's not running for President in 2012. And he's not up for re-election as Governor until Nov. 2013. But that hasn't stopped the anti-Christie trolls from helping the NJ RATs tear down Christie every time there's a positive news story about him.

Love Allen West. He scares the crap outta the libs. Another rising star is New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez. Hard for the libs to argue her immigration policies are "racist" when she is hispanic.

Christie's not even that great of a conservative overall, although he does have balls of steel against the Dem thugs in his state. I simply find it beyond the pale that this honest, proudly pro-life Catholic family man is constantly being smeared as a "Giuliani clone". The "freepers" doing this are obviously trying to spread lies to get social conservatives to turn on one of our own:

I like Christie, but lets give him a term or two to show us his real political chops, kinda like Palin should have done, instead of quitting after 2 years and spending almost a million on consultatnts. Pathetic

That's nothing new with Coulter. Last time she backed Romney. I give no weight to her endorsements. In fact, I find the Coulter worshippers even worse than the Palin worshippers. Coulter lost me a long ago, when she started dating an Muslim weeks after making that "invade all the Muslim countries and convert them to Christianity" comment, her (now proven to be false) hit piece column saying John Roberts would be "another Souter", and so on. Ann Coulter has hurt conservativism alot more than help it, IMO. She's another person in love with getting her face on TV.

I agree 2012 is too soon for Christie. I think he realizes it too. But I hope he stays in NJ for a while because he's done a ton of good there and can do lots more in the future. Too bad the "he's a social liberal" Christie bashers can't see that and would love to have him run out town on a rail tomorrow.

Indeed. It's all over the web. There is obviously a coordinated effort from Christie bashers to convince conservatives that Chris Christie is a clone of Barbara Boxer on social issues. Every time a positive news story about Christie appears, it is immediately subject to some "conservative" poster chiming in to "inform" other conservatives that Christie is a "social liberal"

Conservatives that don't know any better and haven't researched his record and going to think the Governor of NJ is marching in gay pride parades and handing out condoms to 5 year olds. Which is exactly what the anti-Christie trolls want them to believe.

I can't prove Steve Lonegan is behind these efforts, but I strongly suspect he's pulling the strings on this smear campaign. The guy has really been out for blood since losing the primary.

FR and other conservative sites need to be pro-active in refuting these lies. If conservatives have a legitimate policy gripe with Chris Christie's ACTUAL record, fine. But it's absolutely wrong to allow the trolls to continually lie about this proudly pro-life devout Catholic family man position's on social issues. This characther assassination has no more truth to it than the "Bush planned 9/11" insanity. The "conservatives" knowingly posting this garbage are as bad as Michael Moore on the left.

FR is no place for hit pieces with fictional "information" about a politician.

I'm going to start hitting the abuse button on posters who swear they "know" Christie is "pro-abortion and pro-gay marriage". This has got to stop.
