Global Warming Skeptic Predicts Brutal Winter, Warns “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet”
Mediaite ^ | December 27, 2010 | Matt Schneider

British meteorologist Piers Corbyn appeared on Fox and Friends to not only celebrate his accurate prediction of a bone-chillingly cold winter, but to also share his disgust with what he believes to be the “failed science” behind global warming. Despite it often being mentioned that the consensus in the scientific community is that global warming is undisputedly occurring, Corbyn proudly goes against the grain and advocates for his hypothesis of the coming global cooling.

Predicting in November that winter in Europe would be “exceptionally cold and snowy, like Hell frozen over at times,” Corbyn suggested we should sooner prepare for another Ice Age than worry about global warming. Corbyn believed global warming “is complete nonsense, it’s fiction, it comes from a cult ideology. There’s no science in there, no facts to back [it] up.”

Furthermore, he disputed the underlying assumption of most scientists, arguing that higher carbon dioxide levels does not actually have the effect of increasing temperature, and instead global warming supporters “fiddle the facts to justify political attacks.”

Regardless of the politics behind the scientific debate, what everyone should be upset about is if Corbyn’s next prediction is accurate, that the “northeast and east USA [will] suffer the most horrendous blizzards for decades.” He even tweeted out his warning saying “you ain’t seen nothing yet” this winter.

Looking at all the data I have seen so far we should have gone into an ice age when it cooled down in 1400AD but then it warmed up for some strange reason from 1850 onward. That does coincide with the industrial revolution which started around that time but it would have taken something more than that to warm things up.

In some ways I hope this is the beginning of the next ice age so everyone can see just how big of a liar and con artist the Left is.

[There was a huge blizzard in January of 1978. People still talk about it. ]

Darn, I was living with some hippies in Seattle in 79. One guy, a last of the beatniks sort, had written what he called “The Blizzard Sutra”, about the blizzard in Buffalo.

Is Corbyn the guy who made money month after month betting on his prediction compared to the official MET office predictions in the UK?

Now that we now know scientists are liars, what else have they been lying about?

Pray for our Tea Party congress

Just the Leftist scientists are liars but then what do expect from a group of people who will do anything for a government handout (aka research grants)? Corporate welfare, academic welfare, and welfare for poor individuals are all the same and should be pretty much done away with.

All it is doing is rewarding their bad behaviour and habits and just making them worse.

Here in Aus we have had the drought break with large floods _ I predicted this last summer when all the doom and gloomers were saying we needed to spend billions on desalination plants etc. It’s normal after a long drought to have them broken by flooding rains. This is very similar to the drought break in the late seventies.

Absolutely within the bounds of normal.

High sunspot activity means warmer temps. Low means lower temps. My astronomy prof taught me this awhile back.

I remember learning about the Milankovitch Cycle too, back in school in the 50's - grade school in the UK.

Here's where we are now with the Sunspot output:

Watts Up is a great resource for real details on all aspects of Climate Change. Yes, it changes and as has happened for eons Man will modify his living arrangements to survive whatever comes. What we need to find is a good rat repellent!

Just normal weather. The Left has even politicized the weather. Good Grief.

And it looks like the sunspot average for December will be lower then the average for November. Getting worse. NASA and the Solar Deniers have recently released new heavily downward revised predictions for Solar Cycle 24. Now even the Solar Deniers say a 64 Sunspot max average is the most likely outcome during cycle 24. What that probably means is very little net warming is likely to occur during solar cycle 24. We are screwed to say the least.

Just think of all the bull$hit the government has inflicted on us. Raising the prices of fuel, cars, food. Because I drive a big P/U in the state of NY, I had to pay $200 just to register it this year all because of this hoax that has been perpetrated on us the government. Now the idiot from Shell is coming out with the price of gas will be $5 per Gal. by 2012 all because we ‘evil’ people that work to support our families, have to drive. It is all a government control thing.

If you look at the longterm cycles of the ice ages, the “interglacial” warm period that we have been in for the last 12,000(?) years is the flatest and longest of the previous ones.

And in geologic terms, the onset to an “ice age” happens fairly quickly. IIRC on the order of 100 - 200 years. (Not the millions of years we usually think of when looking at geology).

“Man will modify his living arrangements to survive whatever comes.”

To a degree that is true. If a true ice age occurs while mankind is still around (and I think that is probably likely) it will be a mess.

Pretty tough to modify thousands of feet of ice covering the cities from Seattle to Manhattan. (To Oslo and Moscow and Seoul?).

Migrations of huge numbers of people, poor growing conditions worldwide (cold and dry), etc. Lots of wars going on, etc. It wouldn’t be an extinction event, but it would thin out the herd quite a bit.

And the worst part is, the scientific effort is being spent on “stopping” global warming. It should be spent on a open analysis of the true climate changes, and looking at how to adapt to changes (warmer or colder) in the climate. (Farming techniques, cold-weather crops, etc.)

Hopefully, the thrashing about in climate science will reap some rewards in terms of averting the worst consequences when the next ice age comes. As it is, now, it’s just embarrassing.

Soon as that can be used to RAISE TAXES. It’s all about money and power.

The left is going to hafta find a way to extricate their sorry asses from the global warming fiasco and insert them into the global cooling/ice age/we’re all gonaa die if we don’t raise taxes scenario with some elaborate spin.

What we have to worry about are the changing climate patterns as we head into a glacial period. First comes the change in the weather, followed later by the growing ice sheets.

Apparently our species has experienced this at least a couple of times in our Homosapien past. Probably took us near extinction every time or at least back to equatorial Africa. Oh well. Perhaps one of these inter glacial cycles we can finally get off planet ape. We got to the moon at least this time !
