Yogi Bear: The Worst Movie Ever?

The 'worst movie ever' is a term often thrown around when terrible movies are released. The upcoming 3D film Yogi Bear takes its inspiration form a classic cartoon and apparently wrecks it. The acting seems staid and the jokes in the commercials are embarrassing. It could possibly be the worst feature film in history.

My personal favorite, of course, is Tommy Wiseau's masterpiece The Room. Yet at least The Room has some redeeming features, mainly the fact that it is so bad, it is good. For example, please enjoy this quick summary of the movie:

I'll be waiting to hear Michelle Obama-mama ranting about how the food in the pic-a-nic baskets are not very nutritional, and that it sets a bad example for children and parents everywhere.

Plan-9 was so bad that even Crow and Tom Servo pulled their own plugs. Seriously My wife and I watched the move Ed Wood (basically the making of Plan-9), and then watched Plan-9. We were laughing so hard it actually hurt.

However of the MST3K movies nothing tops Prince of Space.

I vote for the Jets last Monday. Da Bears could at least blame the weather for their quarterback's ineptitude. Heck, Rex Ryan gave Jimmy Hoffa last week's game ball and it STILL didn't help them yesterday.

Battlefield Earth

It was hurt by the fact that it was made from the worst novel I have ever read. And I have a friend who insisted that I read it because he loved it. Bleah!

“Jaws” being a damn near perfect film I saw AI out of curiosity (after it tanked). I didn’t quite make it through the film but it seemed to me that Speilberg tried to make a a film that required literary style writing. His usual cinematic type film, ie an idea (shark, space aliens etc)supported by simple dialog, with well concieved shots, editing, scenes and scoring was ditched for the kind of complex idea that requires wordcraft to put it across in terms that don’t bore everyone to tears. “Casablanca” was mostly words. “Jaws” was almost purely cinimatic story telling. The second Spiderman is a good example of the melding of both styles. I couldn’t believe how BAD AI was and that Speilberg didn’t seem to know it.

The sound track was messed up--so that all you heard was garbled noise instead of the dialog or music

As bad as Megaforce was, this may have improved the movie.

I saw AI in the the theater. Actually PAID money to go see it. Figured "Ah, it's done by Speilberg, how bad can it be?"

2 hours later, I wanted that bit of my life back. How many endings were there to that stupid movie? Almost as many as that other Speilberg bomb "Minority Report" had, I think.

Worst movie ever!!

No argument from me. I got stuck with it -- in BetaMax, no less -- when Midland's first video rental outfit closed its doors without warning.
