The State of Arizona just recently passed the Arizona Civil Rights Initiative which prohibits discrimination or preferential treatment of individuals based on race in public institutions. This initiative is aimed primarily at public colleges and universities with respect to their admissions policies. While I am encouraged by the fact that Arizona has taken steps similar to other states to ensure equal treatment among college applicants, I find it disturbing that such laws or propositions are even necessary when they are seemingly redundant with what is already mandated in our constitution.

As long as illegals are not involved, I don’t care who gets into what college.
And then we have the US laws on immigration which are not enforced so the states MUST take responsibility at their own peril. Throw the bums OUT is my motto!
Racist.
I”m assuming this law is trying to strike down the “Affirmative Action” brand of racism? Good, because, in the paraphrased words of MLK, we all need to be judged on the content of our character, not the color of our skin.
Affirmative Action is there to help everyone (except white males) to achieve their dreams (at the expense of white male dreams of course) through this program of inclusion and anti-discrimination (white males to the back of the bus)so that the US can become united (against whitey) and can be proud of our civil rights record once again. Any questions???
Not your kid, so what the F? Right, bozo?
Could this be aimed at the Dream Act?
You bet. Always sneaking around the law.
The left hates Arizona now. How nice.
Name calling is a bit childish. I meant what I said-—I don’t want to see any illegal in any of our schools—from kindergarten through graduate school.
I agree. Illegal aliens should be deported, not crowding our schools. I am sick of their sense of entitlement.
This is the first reporting that I have seen of this.
