Because Republican, Democrat, Commie or Tea Partier, politics still makes for strange bedfellows.

Access to information!!!!

Rubio is teaching all the old farts a lesson in maturity and decency.

Better to carry a gun than a grudge.

Or, maybe because no one is opposing Cornyn for NRSC Chair?

As long as Cornholio is the chairman, I will not send a penny to them.

I will do everything in my power to see him retired in the next election primary.

Most Americans with Cuban roots have always been mainstream Republicans.Marco just wants to get along with the establishment—at least until he gets his sea legs.
This definitely is a mark against him but let's keep watching—after all,the “21st Century American” (apologies to King Crimson) has only just arrived.

Cornyn is running unopposed.

Who is Rubio supposed to support?

Because he was told to support Cornyn - probably by McConnell.

Just maybe by supporting Cornyn, Rubio will have a say in this group....maybe a smart move on Rubio’s part.

Yeah, but only running unopposed after a deal was made with the three incoming TEA party freshmen to head that off...

I like the dealmaking tho, for the most part I see the GOP forced to accept the new conservatives, just like with the earmark ban and allowing a TEA Party freshman to join the leadership

Of course. Politics is about relationships. If Cornyn is unopposed, as it appears, then it is a smart move by Rubio and Paul.

Why? For the same reason the Tea Party types will back a debt ceiling increase, just 3 weeks or so after taking office, thereby backstabbing every one of their voters.

They, like all of them, are scum.

The core issue is whether each, and every, issue is decided on whether it is something the Federal government is allowed to do under the Constitution.

When doubt occurs, the issue should be decided in favor of the more strict, more originalist Constitutional perspective.

PS Americans need to use the word “originalist” often enough for it to become recognized by computers. I am getting a bit tired of seeing what should be a core word flagged by my “Spel Chequor”.

>>> the genuine grassroots conservatives that put Rubio if office need some genuine answers.

Let’s take him out back and beat the snot out of him.

Or alternately we could note the story mentions at the start how Cornyn is running unopposed. So what the hell is Rubio supposed to do to stop a man who wins with the first vote.

Reagan supported Gerald Ford in 1976, after a bloody primary against him.

What good would it have done Reagan to withhold support out of hurt feelings and “principle”?

Let me guess, Jesus Christ was a backstabbing traitor to the true cause?

And Rubio WILL vote for some kind of amnesty.
