Reader Story – 6 Year Old Aggressively Patted Down in Charlotte
We Won't Fly ^ | 11/15/2010 | George Donnelly

Reader Spencer writes:

En route home through Charlotte, our 6 year old son was subjected to an aggressive pat down by a female TSA employee. He was pleading for me to help him and I was admonished for trying to comfort him. His genitals area was groped. He walked down to the plane in tears. When the stewardess asked why he was crying, I explained my frustration and I was further admonished for not being more compliant. My wife was in a wheel chair so she also recieved the pat down by another very unfriendly TSA worker. She felt violated afterwards. We were not given the choice of a full body scanner but would have preferred it over this humiliating experience. The scanners are still intrusive, but at least my 6 year old son would have been unaware of the intrusion. And just to be clear, I am NOT endorsing the scanners either. Both methods are too intrusive on our rights as American citizens.

Is that the idea, TSA? Are the patdowns this aggressive and outrageous in the hopes of getting us all to expose ourselves in the porno-scanners? I won’t send my small son through the scanners because he’s still small and I don’t want to ruin his life by risking some medical issue. What a stupid, fake “choice”: traumatize your children emotionally or traumatize them medically.

Note: I am unable to independently verify the above, so I would take it with a small grain of salt. But it's still worth posting in case somebody here can verify the information or has some similar experiences.

The story sounds like an internet compilation of 3 famous tsa stories.

It is just a basic coming realization that TSA, ALL OF THEM, are occupational miscreants, probably a large portion of psychologically imbalance, probably some abusers and female/child abusers and, above all, domestic terrorists.

IMHO, Job 1 for the new House R majority behind stopping anything Obama wants and burying immigration reform is cutting the balls off Janet Napolitano and her Gestapo. DEFUND TSA NOW!

I’m waiting for a brave sheriff or D.A. to file molestation charges against a screener. I’d love to see the sheriff walk in with a posse and arrest the whold damn bunch. Remember the TSA folks aren’t armed. hee hee

I’d like to know this: was the roll-out of these new procedures timed so that the complaints wouldn’t start until after the 2010 elections?

Exactly 30 days after 911 I few to Vegas. Before take off I was outside having a smoke. (I’ve since quit.) A TSA agent was sitting next to me having a cigarette herself. I asked her what she did before getting the TSA job and she told me she was a hair stylist. And she’d been on the job for almost 30 days. No training whatsoever.

You just got one that was simply totally unqualified. There are other very psychologically imbalanced deviants working there, too! My guess is probably half, by what I’ve seen in nearly a decade of traveling by air. We would be better off by far without them and depend on the determination of a profile screening system and determined passengers if you ask me.

It is my understanding that only those age 13+ are to be subjected to pat downs. It this is so, Suit them!

The only way this is going to stop is if the airlines and the unions connected to the airlines apply pressure.

The only way to motivate these groups is simply to;

.....STOP FLYING !!!!!

Take a train. Rent a car. Charter a bus or a limo.

Just do not fly.

It will not take long to get their attention.

I’m in CA — love Maine ;) -— but probably won’t see it again unless this nonsense stops and they use PROFILING!!!!! It’s a LONG drive from CA to ME.

All that radiation from airport machines or near-molestation if one opts out and chooses ‘pat down?’ \

Neither are acceptable methods! I’m not flying!

I will not be flying while this goes on, and I will also be making it crystal clear to my elected representatives that they are NOT permitted to circumvent the boycott by voting a federal bailout for the airlines when the boycott starts to pinch.

Here’s one that is a pedophile/rapist:

And another who is “God.”

I wonder if the public school "Stranger Danger" education will have to be revamped to fit the TSA requirements.

They teach the children to speak out if someone they don't know handles them where a bathing suit would cover them.

TSA officials said Shanahan is no longer working at the airport. "We can assure travelers every TSA employee is subject to a significant background check, including criminal history, before they are offered a job. Unfortunately, these checks do not predict future behavior," TSA officials said in a statement.

They probably would have had a notion about his rapist/pedophile if they had been taught to profile for criminals.

I am going to Florida from New Jersey for Christmas and then out to Montana after that. I will be driving. I am not a criminal and I don’t intend to allow myself to be treated as one. My heart goes out to the people who don’t have the time to make these long drives but have the need to travel. The people most likely to be the terrorists are receiving preferentail treatment, only head and neck pat downs indeed, while we, the innocent American public are being humiliated if we choose to take a flight.

My sons, when they were small, when through stages where they did not even want strangers to look at and talk to them, let alone grope their bodies. We are training children that they are helpless in the face of sexual molestation - that they do not have a say in how strangers -especially strangers with authority - touch them.

For men and women this is sexual harassment and abuse by the government as well.

But, this experience of physical and mental abuse of people in the name of terrorism has traveled into every aspect of America’s life from the schools and local police to every Federal and State law enforcement and public service group.

If we let this stand, the terrorists won.

The TSA is hiring people who aren’t qualified for real jobs and giving them power. It is bound to create some real monsters.

Isn’t that the truth?
