Yet another point of view!

But an interesting history of news reports of past Chinese hacking.

I’m not sure I’m ready to buy the Chinese hacker story but there are sure a bunch of coincidences here.

The Minuteman missile outage is really puzzling to me, as I used to live near FE Warren AFB where this happened. I’ve toured the launch control facility and they told us there were multiple REDUNDANT lines of communication, in other words, cutting a single cable could not cause such an outage. The AF hasn’t given a detailed explanation but saying that they could not access 5 flights of 10 missiles each just doesn’t square with what I understood about how redundant these installations are.

How many years ago would we have been at DEFCON 4 with SAC bombers in the air over less than this? Today we worry about gays rights...

If you want to parse it in “Clintonese” you might want to note that technically speaking, anything that moves through the air is an aircraft, so if the DoD and Obama-types want to claim a missile counts as an aircraft, they would be right.

I don’t know enough about airplanes or missiles to judge, but I trust an Air Force Lt.Gen. to know what he is talking about.

It is easier to believe that a Chinese sub launched one 35 miles off the cost than one of ours did it.

Unless chicoms have a way of communicating with the computers on US boomers while submerged, I doubt hacking is involved. Missile launches still follow Cold War protocols of two key launches. I believe a more likely scenario is a Chicom boomer conducting a test launch drill but failing to follow protocols which resulted in a real launch of an unarmed missile.

I think of the scene from the Bedford Incident when weapons officer James MacArthur, overstressed from 24 hours at GQ hears Captain Richard Widmark say the phrase fire one in while speaking to former U Boat skipper Eric Portman, and understands the phrase as orders to "Fire One" and launches an ASROC at a nuclear armed Soviet sub.

If it wasn’t a Chinese missile, or a Russian missile, or a Korean missile, it has to have temped all of them to see what they can get away with. My guess is that we are far more vulnerable to all sorts of attacks than Washington wants us to know. All that tax money, all the wars, all the aggravation at airports, and an enemy can hit us anytime they want, a nuke from a sub, in a packing container at one of our ports, or smuggled across the Mexican border in a bale of marijuana. Meanwhile, Obamao is out there apologizing to all of our enemies. All the damage they can do to us, and none of it is equal to what the enemy within is doing.

What’s hard to believe is that we can land men on the moon and develop the technology to land spacecraft on Mars but we can’t find out what the he!! this thing was in our sky? Either the Government doesn’t want panic or they made a big mistake.

If a US SLBM was launched, where did the nuc tip missile go????? Same with a nuc tip sub cruise missile. It takes off and lands somewhere with a mushroom cloud. Every earthquake monitor along the west coast would be kicking live. So far no indications of explosion. Furthermore major universities have ocean sonar networks for ocean and marine studies. Any water missile launch will also be recorded and detected. If it was a missile, a possible jihadist demo of a manportable SAM shot from a merchant ship???? I think that is more plausible then huge missiles fired from Chicom or US subs.

I’ll post what I received by email yesterday. I hesitated to post this last night when such a long, long thread was going on about this subject but now I say - why not throw this in the mix? You can google Aldo Norris but not come up with anything except the title of this email and even then, the email doesn’t appear - the title is on a Ron Paul blog but now what I’ve copied below. I noticed it refers to a 1Lt but the only service mentioned is Navy (and Seals) and I don’t believe they have 1Lt’s....something to chew on and kind of chilling if true! Nothing after this are my words. See below:

That Los Angeles UFO (exclusive)

From one of my sources. You will only ever read this here.

Yesterday something happened. Something that will receive little news coverage before being replaced with the same old shit again. 1Lt Aldo Norris gave his life yesterday to prevent what would have been the greatest catastrophe in American History. You will never hear his name again. You will never hear this story again. This is what happened off the coast of California.

I am only close enough to this to know the general facts, but I was never and probably will never be briefed on the details. Several months ago, a nuclear submarine, used by the Russian mafia to ferry drugs and people into the US from Venezuela was commandeered (or possibly purchased) by the Mexican drug lord Benito Torres. Torres was not considered one of the more dangerous kingpins, especially compared to other drug lords, but he had connections all over the world. Most notably, he was connected to the Taliban’s opium trade. Several years ago, the Taliban stole an MRBM from Pakistan. It had no ordnance, but was just the missile that could carry a nuclear warhead. Sometime about a year ago, tensions rose between the Taliban and Torres, likely due to pressure on the opium supply due to the coalition’s Operation Khanjar. The missile was traded to Torres, likely as a way to make up for lost profit.

We don’t know where they got the warhead. I am not classified high enough to know the size or type of weapon it was. I can guess from the damage estimates that it was either nuclear or chemical, as it was projected to cause massive casualties within the first 48 hours and deny entry to the target area for an extended period.

An informant within Torres’ organization tipped us off to the warhead. Torres was not a priority target until then, because Mexico wants to deal with its own drug lords and because it saves us money, we let them. A non-government power in possession of a WMD, however voids all treaties. Three days ago, our team was dispatched to secure the weapon. I do not have access to the full debriefs, as they were just completed a few hours ago. I only know what it is my job to know. At some point the submarine, missile, and warhead were put together in a crude, but effective manner. The team’s insertion was delayed due to political bullshit at the pentagon about getting approval. In that time, the submarine was launched with a heading towards Los Angeles. Our team, supported now by a SEAL team was able to intercept and board the submarine.

Damage from the entry caused the submarine’s reactor to begin leaking radiation. The strike team was forced to disengage and escape. Lieutenant Norris was injured in the fight aboard the submarine and was unable to disengage without endangering the team. Left alone, he was instructed via radio on the disarming of the warhead. He did so successfully, but the missile’s launch sequence was a separate system that couldn’t be stopped. Lieutenant Norris depressurized the submarine to stop the launch, giving his life in the process. The launch still occurred, but the missile had no guidance, It was vaporized by a defense laser at 200,000 ft.

Take it as you will. I’m posting this here because no credible record will ever be taken. I just wanted to let you know what sacrifices were made. I will not answer any questions. I will not post any response. This will be the last you hear from me on this subject.

It would be easier to believe a Chinese sub launched a dummy missile to send us a message than to believe they managed to hack into a boomer’s fire control system.

It wouldn’t be too hard to see them giving us a few minutes advanced notice of a launch in a certain area to make sure we didn’t launch a retaliatory strike. Our government would never admit to us that they had allowed them to get so close without being detected.

“I don’t know specifically what they are all doing. I just know they have been pinged and that we are talking to the FAA, we are talking to other parts of the U.S. government. We are trying to do everything we can to figure out if anybody has any knowledge of what this event may have been,” Lapan said in off-camera comments to journalists.

“So far we have come up empty,” he added.

Ehhhh, what does he know? He obviously doesn't read the internet where it has been proved beyond any shadow of a doubt to be a unicorn rainbow. /s

BTW:

If Chinese hackers were responsible for a U.S. submarine ‘accidentally’ firing a missile

You have GOT to be kidding me. What sane person could believe that? What, do people think they have wireless internet on submarines? Or did the hack the landline?
