A gentleman, a military vet by the way, politely stood and raised his hand, waited to be called on by the LWV moderator and asked if there would be a Pledge of Allegiance.

The League of Women Voters has long been a hangout for far left zealots.

What is bad is that in too many states, cities, counties and towns, the League is the one everyone goes to to set up the candidate debates at election time.

Not surprisingly, you will end up with a League leftist as moderator and a bunch of far-left local “journalists” as questioners. The dumb Republican candidates allow this to happen, and then sit by as these leftists ask soft questions of the democrat and “do you still beat your wife” questions for the Republican.

She said she ran the debate in the format established by some Grayslake High students and agreed to by all three candidates, none of whom asked for the pledge in advance.
