And now I am curious,
--why does William Gilardy and his wife Yvonne own 36 square feet of property in an area of +million dollar homes?
--And why is their 36 square feet NOT assessed for $3600?(the same rate per square foot as the expensive properties on that block)
--and why are 5 out of 7 of the +million dollar properties there owned by TRUSTS? What the hell is going on there?

When it comes to real estate Hawaii is weird because they have some lands that are not considered part of the US; they are considered to be sovereign. The Bishop Estate lands are part of that, I believe.
They have waiting lists for people to be given Department of Hawaiian Homelands (DHHL)-administered land. It’s a huge deal.
I don’t know, but that could play into what you’re seeing. Gilardy’s political contributions suggest to me that he is interested in Hawaiian sovereignty.
