Challenge Accepted: Conservative gay organization head agrees to debate WorldNetDaily editor
The Daily Caller ^ | September 4, 2010 Updated September 5, 2010 | Chris Moody

Posted on 09/05/2010 10:56:10 AM PDT by Kaslin

In the wake of a dispute between WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah and conservative author Ann Coulter over her decision to headline an event sponsored by GOProud, a gay conservative organization, Farah and GOProud Chairman Christopher Barron will square off in a debate later this month at WND’s convention.

Barron told The Daily Caller that Farah challenged him to debate over whether GOProud can be considered “conservative” after Farah argued on his site that there is no place within conservatism for an organization like GOProud, a group that promotes itself as “the only national organization representing gay conservatives and their allies.” TheDC is waiting for confirmation from WND about the debate’s details.

Farah dropped Coulter from a speaking engagement at WND’s annual “Taking America Back” convention in Miami for agreeing to speak at GOProud’s “Homocon” party in New York. (Coulter later said that Farah had never actually booked her for a speech, calling him a “swine” and a “publicity whore.”)

Farah contends that groups like GOProud are trying to commit a “coup” to unroot the conservative movement with an “agenda…to take the homosexual agenda inside the conservative tent.”

Barron insists that his group is genuinely conservative and said he looks forward taking on Farah in front of a WND crowd.

“Since we announced that conservative author and columnist Ann Coulter would be headlining our Homocon 2010 in New York City, Farah has attacked GOProud, attacked Ann, and challenged our work almost every single day,” Barron said in a statement to The Daily Caller. “I look forward to standing on the stage with Mr. Farah to defend GOProud, to debunk the misinformation he has spread, and to make the case for GOProud’s conservative mission.”

Barron added that conservatism stands at a major crossroads in its acceptance of gays into the movement. A number of high profile conservatives, including Lisa De Pasquale of the Conservative Political Action Conference, Grover Norquist of Americans for Tax Reform and former General Counsel to the National Republican Senatorial Committee Craig Engle, have signed on as official sponsors of GOProud’s event.

The debate will be held on September 17 at 7:30 PM at the Doral Golf and Spa Resort in Miami, Florida.

Some where in the depths of my computer I have a list of about 87 points, a summary of “After the Ball - Overhauling Straight America” which I will post on the thread, a bit later.

Your pro-queer reply leaves me as good an opportunity as any to change my tagline

You think Jim Robinson (courtesy ping) is under the control of any freepers here? Someone else on the thread (no names so I won’t need to ping ‘em) or my own small self and snap my fingers, he comes running to do my or someone else’s bidding? We just say, “Hey, Jim, ban this person” and he does it? Are you out of your mind?

You sent me some nicey nicey freepmails last night, but your tone is quite different on the thread.

Duplicity and double dealing is the hallmark of dishonesty. I can discuss politely with those who have different opinions, but not when people use duplicitous tactics as their SOP. As I just mentioned to someone above who uses very similar “methods” - once bitten, twice shy. Or “only a fool sticks his hand in the fire twice”.

You claim that “free speech” is what you want; yet yesterday when I requested you to explain how the GOProud’s stated, public Legislative Agenda is in any way conservative, you refused to answer or address this central issue. Then, when your knuckles were rapped, went on and on about how you’d just love to share you opnion, but were prevented by the management.

Dirty tactics and dishonest so-called “debate”, that’s your method. Feh.

I posted a link to a book and it has some really good stuff but I don't have time to read it all today.

Some points from the link in Post 488.

No mainstream geneticist is happy with the idea that genes dictate behaviour, particularly homosexual behaviour.

From an understanding of gene structure and function there are no plausible means by which genes could inescapably force SSA or other behaviours on a person. Genes create proteins not preferences.

If SSA were genetically dictated, it would have bred itself out of the population in only several generations, and wouldn’t be around today.

SSA occurs too frequently to be caused by a faulty pre-natal developmental process, so it is not innate in that sense either.

The widespread age-range of first homosexual attraction is very unlike the narrow time-spread of genetically driven phases of human life, e.g gestation time, puberty, menopause, making homosexuality very unlikely to be genetically driven.

The histone system which controls genetic expression is strongly affected by the environment, e.g nurturing, making searches for individual genes responsible for certain behaviours, mostly pointless.

“Innocent children born with a condition”.

“...most Freepers think all gays are liberals and promiscuous”.

1. No child is born homosexual and there is absolutely no, zero proof that this is so. None. Nada. You ignore that there are actually former homosexuals who are free - yes, free - from same sex attraction. They are not just holding themselves back from their inborn inclinations, they are free of the “gay” life. Treatment isn’t always successful, but for those who want to change, change is often possible. The “born gay and you can’t change” is one of the most evil condemnations - putting confused adolescents or young people in a prison they then feel they have no escape from.

2. If you think most homosexuals are not liberals, how come 75% of the Log Cabin Republicans votes Democrat a few years ago in IIRC the 2008 elections? Those are the “conseravtive” homosexuals!

And regarding promiscuity, the fact is so well known that homosexuals are much, much more promiscuous than the general population that it is a self-evident fact. Homosexuals themselves admit it! They’re “Proud” of it! It’s who they are!

Of course, there are some who are not, but it is a small minority.

You’re not even clutching at straws, you’re clutching at imaginary straws.

Thanks. That's a good link.

It drives me nuts that I can't find the one that I described earlier. It talked about pre-empting the civil rights movements language, playing the victim, born that way......there was a laundry list of what to do.

but I feel I have to fight for the innocent children born with a condition just like ANY children born with a condition.

They aren't born with it. No science bears that out. Not even hormones.

Chapter 7. Pre-natal hormones? Stress? Immune attack? PDF

“In clinical practice numerous patients are encountered with gross abnormalities of their hormonal profiles. As a rule this does not impact on their gender identity or sexual orientation.”45

So, not only your genes didn’t make you do it, it seems your hormones didn’t either. In sexual orientation, the strongest stimulation appears to come from the mind and the environment.

The complete book and studies are online.

My Genes Made Me Do It! - A Scientific Look at Sexual Orientation.

COMMUNIST GOALS (From The Congressional Record, Jan. 10, 1963)

19. Break down culture standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and T.V.

20. Present homosexuality, degeneracy, and promiscuity, as “normal, natural, healthy.”

I am curious then why there is not a Conservative effort to stop pornography.

I am not sure of the stats, but recall that Porn is a bigger industry than Hollywood and Videogaming combined; plus its reach is far more widespread into the population than the small amount of gays that you are saying are destroying our moral fabric here.

Porn destroys families, relationships and ultimately the minds of those involved with it.

Confused as to why Farah and any other sanctimonious type needs to attack the smaller issue of homos.

Oh, and guess what. I think any man who watches porn has automatically got some gay thing going on. Too many naked men on screen... plus... seen it affect the men I know who are into it this way. Lets just say it makes them bi curious. Pornography has weakened if not destroyed the vibrancy and creativity of the young men of this country now for decades. If Gibbons was writing now, this would be a main factor for the Decline of the US/West.

I think the gays are a convenient scapegoat for Christian hypocrites. And I will say that as a Christian, I do not believe these hypocrites fool God in the least. If Christian men in the Church cannot act in purity, who do you think God is more upset with? Unsaved gays w/out the Holy Spirit in them? Or porn obsessed Christians who sit around throwing stones at the gays?

God is already judging this country for this self righteous vileness. And I don't mean He is judging the US for the gays... He is judging us for the vileness of CHRISTIANS who are not worthy of His name.

Casting stones at sinners outside the church. This is sin itself. I could vomit and I know God already is... hint: Obama is a symptom of God's judgment on this country for the whorishness of the Church. God always judges His people and the Church FIRST.

All that spew because I posted what the commies had planned for America? Try disputing that those points aren't real and nearly accomplished.

And I'd be careful trying to point at porn while stating "its (porn) reach is far more widespread into the population than the small amount of gays that you are saying are destroying our moral fabric here.

Sounds like you're defending degeneracy by pointing at another. "Don't look here! Look over there!" It's called deflection and it doesn't work.

You're homepage says :Not so newbie... back to just try to discuss Christian charismatic issues. So who were you before?

I am not “disputing” or debating anything with you, any more than I would try to make friends with a growling, drooling dog.

Then stop talking to me. But know this, my two stances are the same as they were when I first appeared on this thread.

1.) We should try to get gays to vote conservative by helping them realize the importance of lowering taxes, shrinking government spending, tightening our borders, improving our security and our military, and drilling ANWR.

2.) Christianity is neutral to American politics. Some elements of it are conducive to the left, some to the right, and therefore it is not the province of the right, and conservatism is not synonymous with it.

It's what I've said all along, it's objectively true, you can't handle it, so you insult me. But oh well.
