In the wake of a dispute between WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah and conservative author Ann Coulter over her decision to headline an event sponsored by GOProud, a gay conservative organization, Farah and GOProud Chairman Christopher Barron will square off in a debate later this month at WND’s convention.
Barron told The Daily Caller that Farah challenged him to debate over whether GOProud can be considered “conservative” after Farah argued on his site that there is no place within conservatism for an organization like GOProud, a group that promotes itself as “the only national organization representing gay conservatives and their allies.” TheDC is waiting for confirmation from WND about the debate’s details.
Farah dropped Coulter from a speaking engagement at WND’s annual “Taking America Back” convention in Miami for agreeing to speak at GOProud’s “Homocon” party in New York. (Coulter later said that Farah had never actually booked her for a speech, calling him a “swine” and a “publicity whore.”)
Farah contends that groups like GOProud are trying to commit a “coup” to unroot the conservative movement with an “agenda…to take the homosexual agenda inside the conservative tent.”
Barron insists that his group is genuinely conservative and said he looks forward taking on Farah in front of a WND crowd.
Since we announced that conservative author and columnist Ann Coulter would be headlining our Homocon 2010 in New York City, Farah has attacked GOProud, attacked Ann, and challenged our work almost every single day, Barron said in a statement to The Daily Caller. I look forward to standing on the stage with Mr. Farah to defend GOProud, to debunk the misinformation he has spread, and to make the case for GOProuds conservative mission.
Barron added that conservatism stands at a major crossroads in its acceptance of gays into the movement. A number of high profile conservatives, including Lisa De Pasquale of the Conservative Political Action Conference, Grover Norquist of Americans for Tax Reform and former General Counsel to the National Republican Senatorial Committee Craig Engle, have signed on as official sponsors of GOProud’s event.
The debate will be held on September 17 at 7:30 PM at the Doral Golf and Spa Resort in Miami, Florida.

Well, you're wrong there, too. I neither love them nor hate them. I appreciate them when they work in the cause of conservatism, and I am highly irritated with them when they don't. Simple as that.
A Christian’s judgment IS biased. That’s why so many of them are liberals. And that’s why so many of them put condemning gays above winning their votes.
Good night.
Fine. If he reads them, he will see that I am not promoting any gay agenda, and that I do not hate Christians, I simply know that Christianity does not equal conservatism.
I’m not frantically making excuses, I’m making absolutely sure that Jim sees what I wrote, not what you SAY I wrote. Because you are, I’m sorry to say, not honest.
Yeah you tell that to the Christian Conservative that owns the site. LOLOL!!
I love a laugh before bed! Thanks!
Well, Jim will decide, so you run along to bed now. You pinged him over and over trying to get people on here banned for disagreeing with you, people who have been steady conservatives for years, because you’re a bully and an intellectually dishonest hypocrite. I really suggest you deal with your feelings about your brother a different way, rather than taking it out on other conservatives. Good night to you too.
IOW, you, (God), can see all, and you can see, from your mount of judgement on High, that Christians are biased, and of course you are not.
Sheesh.
Nutso.
1.) Many Christians are not American, and therefore most likely not strong believers that Jesus wanted limited government in America.
2.) Many Christians are opposed to homosexuality and abortion, but vote Democrat because they think it's good for the government to help the poor, and
3.) Many Christians hate gays SO MUCH they don't even want Ann Coulter talking to them.
4.) And many Christians hate gays SO MUCH that if someone comes on here and says "but maybe we can get them to vote conservative by talking to them about issues like ANWR, security, the military, taxes, and immigration" they start foaming at the mouth and claiming that trying to get gays to vote Republican is promoting a gay agenda.
I can see that from here.
The only things you can see are the strange ferments in what I would laughingly call your “mind”.
I wouldn’t worry (about you anyway).
The hyena pack managed to get someone banned on another thread today. They get a little yappy when they have fresh blood on their snouts.
I live near a college town which is also a big music town. (Not Austin, but much like it on a small scale.) I don't get out and about all that much any more, but I'm a big music lover. Some, not too many years ago, I used to go to various parties because local bands or musicians would be playing there.
So I would be sitting around surrounded by all manner of left leaning young college students, and/or aging bedroom community hippies. Time and again somebody would launch into an attack on "right wing Christians". I could never let that go. Never once. Whatever the situation called for -- calm discussion, or a nose to nose shouting match -- I would tell these creeps exactly why they were liars, hypocrites and bigots, and more smarmily, self-righteously smug about it than any cable-television evangelist could ever hope to be.
Here's the thing that got my blood up: Conservatives were being attacked in those situations not only because the victim was assumed to be conveniently absent, but also because it was easy and comfortable to do so. The pontificates thought they were in a setting where no one would disagree with them, where no one would challenge them, where their bigotry, no matter how mean or how extreme, would be accepted as upright and be applauded and echoed.
That - would - piss - me - off. Didn't matter that the victims were conservative Christians, who I might disagree with on any number of issues related to their religion. They were conservatives. They were part of the movement. They stood with me when it counts. No one was going to attack them in my hearing and get away with being the slightest bit comfortable about it. And I would damn well defend their Christianity to. Their right to be Christian and conservative. I remember telling one especially obnoxious leftist that Jerry Falwell had more common sense in his (then dead and decaying) left little toe than this clown, Noam Chompsky and Howard Zinn possessed in sum; and I was no particular fan of Falwell.
So, anyway, I say all that to say this: Believe it or not; like it or not; and suffice to say in general terms, without veering into apparently forbidden speech, the reasons and motivations behind my attempts to defend gay conservatives in this thread are exactly and precisely the same which have led me to defend conservative Christians anytime they are attacked by someone who thinks it's safe and easy. (The fact that the friendly context for smears has been achieved here much the same way leftists do it, by threats and intimidation, is but another commonality.)
Now, if I was in one of those heated discussions about conservative Christians (or about the Iraq war, or whatever) and the host asked me to stand down. I would. So JR asks me to stand down here, and I do, more or less.
But anyone thinks I was just being "cute"? Nope. I do enjoy a good argument. I don't get too much invested emotionally. But I don't argue what I don't believe. So -- just for the record -- that's where I stand, even if standing down.
Thanks for the mention. I didn’t get anywhere with the gang, but I feel I have to fight for the innocent children born with a condition just like ANY children born with a condition. Cleft palate, hip dysplasia, diabetes, dyslexia, crossed eyes, or homosexuality.
I realize I am swimming upstream because most FReepers think all gays are liberals and promiscuous. Some are most definitely not. I wish they could come here and discuss politics without hearing the worst slur words in the world aimed at them.
I would be very sad if Jim banned me. One of the highlights of my life was meeting him last year in Griffith Park, with my little sons.
Thank you, DJ. Ignorance is dangerous, and unfortunately, many are not aware of the reasons that we who are opposed to the homosexual agenda believe as we do. When, many years ago, I discovered that my sister was a lesbian, I thought, naively and without any evidence to support it, that marriage would be a good thing. I was clueless and wrong, although my intentions were good. Good intentions are no excuse, however.
Do as you will. I’m not the owner of this site.
I used to have a link to the plan about how to normalize homosexuality. It has been removed from the net. It explained in detail the "born that way" lie. It stated that if homosexuals could convince normals that they had no control over their behavior it would illicit sympathy and support. Written in the 80's, it looks like they have nearly achieved all of their goals.
Yes, everyone should read about the communist manifesto:

I also tried to find something regarding the attempt to normalize homosexuality, but failed. I’ll keep looking.
