Challenge Accepted: Conservative gay organization head agrees to debate WorldNetDaily editor
The Daily Caller ^ | September 4, 2010 Updated September 5, 2010 | Chris Moody

Posted on 09/05/2010 10:56:10 AM PDT by Kaslin

In the wake of a dispute between WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah and conservative author Ann Coulter over her decision to headline an event sponsored by GOProud, a gay conservative organization, Farah and GOProud Chairman Christopher Barron will square off in a debate later this month at WND’s convention.

Barron told The Daily Caller that Farah challenged him to debate over whether GOProud can be considered “conservative” after Farah argued on his site that there is no place within conservatism for an organization like GOProud, a group that promotes itself as “the only national organization representing gay conservatives and their allies.” TheDC is waiting for confirmation from WND about the debate’s details.

Farah dropped Coulter from a speaking engagement at WND’s annual “Taking America Back” convention in Miami for agreeing to speak at GOProud’s “Homocon” party in New York. (Coulter later said that Farah had never actually booked her for a speech, calling him a “swine” and a “publicity whore.”)

Farah contends that groups like GOProud are trying to commit a “coup” to unroot the conservative movement with an “agenda…to take the homosexual agenda inside the conservative tent.”

Barron insists that his group is genuinely conservative and said he looks forward taking on Farah in front of a WND crowd.

“Since we announced that conservative author and columnist Ann Coulter would be headlining our Homocon 2010 in New York City, Farah has attacked GOProud, attacked Ann, and challenged our work almost every single day,” Barron said in a statement to The Daily Caller. “I look forward to standing on the stage with Mr. Farah to defend GOProud, to debunk the misinformation he has spread, and to make the case for GOProud’s conservative mission.”

Barron added that conservatism stands at a major crossroads in its acceptance of gays into the movement. A number of high profile conservatives, including Lisa De Pasquale of the Conservative Political Action Conference, Grover Norquist of Americans for Tax Reform and former General Counsel to the National Republican Senatorial Committee Craig Engle, have signed on as official sponsors of GOProud’s event.

The debate will be held on September 17 at 7:30 PM at the Doral Golf and Spa Resort in Miami, Florida.

You keep accusing me of hatred, and then say I'm trying to get a dig in? I'm not digging, you are,

You have done nothing but spew disdain and hatred at Christians. I'm not the only one that has read it. Anyone who has read your states the same, that you hate Christians.

It's pretty clear that this is a huge issue with you because of your brother.

Not really. Because of him I have more knowledge than most.

Moreover, you can't address ANY of my points, you can't even acknowledge my stance.

Let's see, points you've made: contempt for Christians, thread is about Coulter, you pigeonholed your prepubescent students as homosexuals, you hate Christians because they aren't conservatives, children that like cakes and parties are homosexual.....

Many liberals are Christians.

No. They are not. You are an admitted atheist. You know nothing of true Christianity anymore than a blind person can describe the color "green".

Many churches are adamantly Democrat, particularly the African-American ones. You completely avoid this fact. You haven't dared to breathe a word about it. Why?

I have never attended a black church. I'm not as egotistical as you in thinking that I'd know ANYTHING about something which I have not experienced. But you go right ahead.

. Liberals embrace the exhortations to be compassionate and forgiving, and care for the poor.

No they don't. These are things that they use to CONTROL OTHERS.

You are ignorant and spouting things on subjects that you know nothing about.

I'm not answering you again. Go obsess about an 11 year olds sexuality or something. I STILL can't believe a real teacher would say such crap on a public board!

Buh bye!

The GOProud agenda is not conservative.

Then I'm glad Ann Coulter's going to go talk to them. Maybe she can help straighten them out a little.

Any Christian who votes liberal doesn't understand either the Constitution or that the instructions contained in the Old and New Testaments about helping the poor and so on are meant for personal life and private or religious organizations. Not huge government bureaucracies.

Nonsense, Jesus never stipulated "but don't do it through taxes."

Obviously ‘she’ has something to gain from homosexual rights.

I think you should read back over my remarks before you lecture me. I am not for retreat on any aspect of the “homosexual agenda.” The only view I have that could be considered even remotely sympathetic is that I am pretty sure they are born that way. I don’t think we ALL have homosexual urges that we must fight. I certainly don’t, and I’d be very surprised to find that you and little jeremiah, for instance, do.

Gays are NOT born that way, where are you getting this erroneous info?

It's true. See post 216.

A so-called gay conservative really should leave his sexuality at the front door if he wants in, don't you agree?

I agree. But if you were black, would you like it here if people were using the N word and other rude terminology about your race? Read through this thread. A modest gay person would not feel welcome here, and you all probably would not even care. That's not decent to one's fellows.

And for every so called study that is conducted with the bias to prove that homosexuality is not a choice, several other studies prove that there is a choice.
I see that you are pro-momomexual.
You do know that FR is not and will not ever back the momo’s, right?

1) I didn't pigeonhole those two boys, they came to me and told me they were gay, both times because some other boy was going to beat them up and they came to someone they trusted. That they both acted quite effeminate was simply a source of puzzlement to me till they said they were gay. Then I thought "Well, I'll be. Okay, that explains it." Simple as that. That you are trying to give other readers the exact opposite impression does not speak well of you.

2) You are not qualified to decide that any liberal who considers himself a Christian is simply NOT. If you really believed in God, you'd know it was for Him to decide, not you.

3)You don't have to attend a black church to know they are generally very pro-Democrat. If you want to go on record saying they aren't real Christians, though, you go ahead. It's ironic that they tend to agree with you on homosexuality and abortion... just not on anything else. They agree with you on the one thing you say is most important, and then you say they aren't real Christians. You are looking very irrational right now.

4) Goodbye to you too.

It's bogus. See the Book of Romans.

“I don’t think we ALL have homosexual urges that we must fight. I certainly don’t, and I’d be very surprised to find that you and little jeremiah, for instance, do.”

I’m not talking about someone’s personal battle with immorality here. I’m talking about the homosexual agenda- the one that intends to use the power of the government to go beyond tolerance and force acceptance of evil practices. In any case, I quoted your remarks in my post- not all of them, but the pertinent ones- that I did read.

It's true. See post 216.

You desperately want to believe it's true even if it's a Soros funded website that said it.

There is no scientific proof. None. Even the APA has backed off the false assumption of "born gay".

If a poster were "modest" and "gay" how would anyone know that they were homosexual? You're not making sense.

Nonsense.

The “Reverend” Jeremiah Wright claims to be a Christian, has the label “Christian” pinned on, so does Obastard, and the Clintons.

Does that make them Christians? No, because their beliefs, speech and actions are in opposition to the real teachings of the Bible.

People can think “I’m a Christian” or “I’m a Jew” or “I’m a Hindu” but live their lives in opposition to the teachings of their religions. So, they are “Christian in name only”, “Jew in name only”, “Hindu in name only”.

All you’re doing is pointing out that there are many Christians who are shallow, insincere and/or have no understanding of their religion.

Because gays inherently have to broadcast their sexual beliefs and sexual orientation to everyone for some reason.
Possibly because of some low self esteem issue.
I have yet to run across someone who is homosexual that DIDN’T broadcast their sexual orientation.

In short, there is no such thing as a modest homosexual.

Okay, after her speech at GOProud, there will be threads about it, and if she criticizes their militant homosexual agenda, I will publicly admit I was wrong.

And all YOU are doing is claiming that Christians who, like you, are against homosexuality and abortion... are still not real Christians because they also believe in higher taxes and government sponsored charities.

You DO realize that most black Christians are against homosexuality and abortion, but pro-Democrat on economic issues, right? You do realize they were the ones, they and Hispanics, who voted for Prop 8 in California, stopping gay marriage.

Let me make absolutely sure you understand who you are condemning: black and latino Christians who have the SAME VIEWS AS YOU on homosexuality and abortion... but aren't real Christians because they didn't see where in the Bible Jesus said "don't use tax money to care for the poor."
