Just when I thought that I’ve heard every possible insult in the political realm this year Rabbi Daniel Lapin added his two cents. On the Glenn Beck program he said he views the atheists as parasites who without putting any energy into it benefit from America created by the faithful people.
The Rabbi is entitled of his opinion and is free to call me parasite. However, I urge his friends to help him, because he may need advice from psychiatrist.
Just two days ago a fellow who was calling people parasites strapped himself with bombs to make a point on Discovery channel. He wanted to inform the world that people are parasites.
Here with the Rabbi we have a ‘parasites’ alert. Please, if you know Mr. Lapin, check on his psychological condition before he harms himself, other people and his cause.
Insult after insult is coming from the TV talking heads.
Some idiots called me a cracker for being white, bigot for being against illegal immigration, racist for being for small government, parasite for having children and now double parasite for being atheist.
Have we run out of decency in this country? Can we stop insulting people with stereotypes? With this entire campaign for personal responsibility can we judge people individually by their deeds instead of stuffing them in groups that wave fists to each other?
I was excited watching the Restoring Honor rally. I was inspired. I thought that people can unite with the goal of being decent, honest, taking care of each other and the children and the country. How naive of me!

I don't really ask to be "taken seriously" since I have no desire to advocate for atheism or to undermine your faith.
You would be right to be angry with me if I were on a rampage against religion, constantly in the courts asking for religious symbols to be taken out of state seals and the like.
But I can choose, and have chosen, not to be an obnoxious, lawsuit happy militant secularist. What I can't choose is not to be an atheist, any more than I can choose not to be a redhead.
All I'm asking is to get along. I won't insult you for what you believe and you won't insult me for what I don't. OK?

I work. I pay taxes. And, like a lot Atheists, I give to non-christian charities. I work, based on your handle, to likely support those generous GI health benefits and VA benefits in addition to the welfare support for plenty of god-fearing folk who seem more inclined to “depend on the kindness of strangers,” than work for a living.
You are all living off of my work, not the other way around.
I guarantee you, atheists produce a net gain for this country that is quickly wiped out by the vast number of Christians living off of the government dole and sucking off the government teat.
So who is the true parasite?
