If you do it during a state declared emergency and still consider yourself a law-abiding citizen then you may get trouble. If it is total anarchy and it is in defense of your life then you are really not a law-abiding citizen and 2A is your friend.
There is all kinds of human trash running around during a storm. We’ve had them enter the property and we’ve run them off. No way will I get stuck on the road somewhere and be defenseless.

I think the 2A is the best argument, in hindsight, for some of the arguments in favor of having a Bill of Rights. While I think it causes problems with many people now thinking that we have no rights except those enumerated there, I can't imagine how bad it would be if we didn't have that 2A in black and white...well, brownish-tan. :-)
And the fact that it's now applied to the states is interesting. Many states have their own provisions, which seem rather redundant now, and are largely ignored.
