One would hope that Marco Rubio turns this into a TV ad. If he can isolate Crist’s to white urban liberals, he has it in the bag. The Obama connection is a sure fire way to do it.

You have to ask yourself this. Right now, Crist is just ahead (around eight to ten points). Unless he really screws things up...he’s probably going to win. So why bother showing up to meet secretly with the President? What do you have to really gain? I’m thinking a phone call would have been a better situation and no chance of a face-to-face moment coming out in the press.
The only thing to be gained...is the President’s help to dump the Democratic candidate and have Crist switch over to be the Democratic Party contender, and have no competition against Crist except Marco.
If anyone can think of another reason...I’d be curious to know.

"Right now, Crist is just ahead (around eight to ten points). Unless he really screws things up...hes probably going to win" What polls are you reading? Rubio is up in all the polls I've seen the last week, and FR has a couple threads from just today on the latest Rasmussen poll that has Rubio up by 10.

We were doomed before this. This is just icing on the cake.:)

This is why Crist is losing. When he went ‘independent’, many independents and moderate Republicans thought he’d be in the middle between ‘left’ and ‘right’ and they like it. Instead, he turned to extreme left and aligned himself with 0bama. Independents and even moderate Republicans cannot stand 0bama, so Crist is losing them. It’s probably too late for him now to establish himself as a truly independent. Which is good, because now Rubio can put 0bama-approved stamps on both Meek and Crist.

Any future vote for Crist is a vote for Obama and his policies.

What are you talking about? Crist does NOT have this in the bag, Rubio is ahead! Esp, since Meek won Tuesday. Dem votes will go to him! Crist is playing with Fire.

have Crist switch over to be the Democratic Party contender, and have no competition against Crist except Marco.
That doesn't work, because if Meek is told to Step 'n Fetch it and make room for the white man, one-quarter of the Dem base gets REALLY mad (and rightfully so.) and that would affect the whole ticket, NOT just the Senate seat.
Crist himself, narcissist that he is, may be that delusional, but Obama will do no more than be polite to him, and maybe give some double talk. Another possibility mentioned earlier, Crist may be angling for a decent post in the Obama admin.

Obama likes older white homosexuals, so why should he not meet with charlie who is a proven homo. Obama gives and Charlie takes.
