On Front Range vs. Western Slope issues like water rights and energy industry, Maes is a disaster for the Western Slope. He's also a good example of my rule-of-thumb that whichever candidate is hyped the loudest as a "Tea Party" candidate is the one to avoid. If the party doesn't replace him, it's Tancredo by default for me.

Hickenlooper wins this race no matter who he runs against (barring some major scandal). So I’m good with Tom staying in the race, and getting his message out. Maes has no shot.
If nothing else, Tom will give the snarkers a chance to bitch, which is their favorite pastime.

The chance of the Republicans winning the Colorado governor race probably was lost with the McInnis plagiarism story. Until that came out, polls showed McInnis winning that race. That said, Tancredo is not helping the cause. If he wanted to run for governor, why didn't he enter the Republican primary? The answer is simple. He knew he would lose. Tancredo cannot win a state wide race in Colorado. He knows it. Republicans know it. Colorado voters know it. All Tancredo can do is make absolutely sure the Democrats keep the Governor's seat. Tancredo is like Crist. He couldn't win the primary, so he decided to stomp on the guy who did. What a snake.

So long as one of those is the governors office, I agree.

So Im good with Tom staying in the race, and getting his message out.Tancredo and Hickenlooper are already at war over the issue of whether Hickenlooper is running a "sanctuary city". Tancredo says he is. Hickenlooper says he isn't. Assuming Tancredo is right and can convince the public, he could be competitive in this race.

Controlling the governors seat will give the GOP real power in shaping the congressional districts in the state which has major implications in future congresses.
Yep. That is why it is very important for Colorado Republicans to donate to and work for candidates for the state legislature. A little goes a long way at the local level. People who are uninvolved with politics many times do not know who their state represatives and senators are. Getting information out to voters on the Republican candidates increases their chances to be elected. And in a redistricting year, when the Democrats are going to own the Governor's seat, control of the statehouses is incredibly important.

So long as one of those is the governors office, I agree. LOL, no chance of that happening.

I hope you are right, but it seems like Colorado has been taken over by libtards. I live one the western slope, but have a place in Lakewood also. western slope still good, but Denver metro...yikes.
