With thanks and credit to Brugmansian, it's looking like all the LSM fuss about Michelle's extravagant vacation in Spain, just might be a distraction to cover up a much more sinister reason for her trip.
Brugmansian uncovered the following article in EL MUNDO and the last paragraph is of specific importance.

I was just scanning the Spanish press for more reports, and I saw something sort of funny: a bunch of “famosos,” mostly movie stars such as Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith (his wife), had been invited to meet her in a receiving line and were waiting outside near a red carpet behind which were parked a few of the cars of the entourage. They waited and waited and then there was an announcement that Michelle Ma Belle and her group were too tired from their excursion that day and would not come out to see the people who were waiting for her.
Brave little groupies that they were, however, they decided to write tiny love notes on the hood of one of the cars that was parked behind them...a nice little subcompact made by FORD! LOL!

I wonder what prompted her refusal to meet with her adoring fans? Perhaps word of the press criticism has reached her and she was told not to provide a photo op which would look bad.
She COULD have met with them in private, though. I am certain she would have granted an “audience.”

I don't think it's money or capital for a couple of reasons.
First, funds are transferred by wire for safety and security. Second, it is much more likely that the Obama's have offshore accounts in which to hide their massive amount of loot (possibly in the hundreds of billions).
As someone late to this terrific thread, I would say this whole affair looks more like Michelle is "warming up the getaway car" and preparing for the Obama post WH hole-up. Barry doesn't need Michelle to deliver a message...the Saudis have tons of agents in DC who can take a message.
This trip to Marbella and the visit with the Saudis is personal.
It occurred to me when watching the Boy Scout's at Jamboree roundly boo Obama's message that Barry and Michelle might be planning an early escape. His time is getting near and he must know it.
Furthermore, from his actions, it is clear now that Obama never planned to be a functional president. In retrospect, he has never even tried to lead the country as a whole. In his short stint, he has shoved the country to the left as much as possibly ( a token nod to his homeys and his mom), he has sided with foreigners against our own citizens (Mexico comes to mind loudest), he has taunted and laughed at America as only someone would if he knew he was going to make an escape when the heat was turned up.
Obama is not concerned with his legacy because he doesn't want one. As a man of the world, he will be content to be the world richest thief. He got elected to the most powerful position in the world and then told G-d D*mn America to go f*ck herself...all the while absconding with enough of a stash to make him one of the richest men in the world.
And to any of you who think he will retire to Kenya...Michelle is currently disabusing us all of that idea.

She is NOT a member of the elected government of our country, IF that still matters.
There are plenty of members of our government who are not elected. In fact the vast majority are not. The office of the First Lady has a USG staff and is part of the WH budget. Presidents have been using private interlocuters for as long as I can remember to deliver messages.
There's a host of other means to deliver "personal" messages.
It depends on the substance of the message and how confidential you want to make it.
Sounds like a money drop trip. She is probably picking up the dough. Jesse Jackson is another interesting part of the deal. It doesn’t sound like he went with Michelle. Perhaps he is there to keep an eye on her for some patriot in the FBI(kinda a payback for not being prosecuted in the Blago mess?) Probably just wishful thinking..but Jesse seems to be in the middle of alot of corruption, so perhaps he is an informant.

I always thought Jesse Senior was an arms dealer, which would explain his amazing success negotiating hostage deals with Third World thugs, and that friend of his who got arrested several years ago trying to peddle missiles in Florida.
Why am I NOT surprised by anything the Obamas do or say?
So, what would he do? How would he get out of the country? Take an official visit and then claim asylum? That would be an international incident of the first order (not that he would care).
Then we would have Biden, followed by Pelosi. Those two would have to explain why they didn’t spot this nefarious plot, along with Hillary Clinton and the CIA and FBI.
The result would be the destruction of the democrat party, probably riots in urban areas, forced resignations of all Obama appointees, impeachment of Biden, and, as my friend Kratos says on another site:
“In the end, there will only be chaos.”
