BABIES FEEL NO PAIN before 24-weeks?
WebToday ^ | 8-1-10 | WebToday

A new bogus report from Great Britain's Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has released a study that claims the baby in the womb is not able to feel pain before 24-weeks of development.

The Family Research Council's Jeanne Monahan says this study is being used in the attempt to challenge the UK's current legalization of abortions up to 24-weeks. Monahan of the Center for Human Dignity of the Family Research Council in Washington also says it’s just a matter of time before studies like this are used by the American abortion industry to challenge the number of new pro-life laws now in this country.

Monahan believes it will also be just a matter of time before the "pro-aborts" in the U.S. try to use this study to challenge the laws of Nebraska that all abortions after 20-weeks are illegal.

The Family Research Council says this study from Great Britain could lead to a profound moral injustice as those opposed to life become more cavalier about taking the life of the baby in the womb.

Anyone that has had kids knows otherwise, this is probably the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

Oh, sorry, should have read it first, I’m so used to these stupid claims I just reacted on the title, between health and “space” claims I don’t believe a thing I read (except for the FR of course).

The 24 weeks is 24 weeks post-conception, not 24 weeks post-birth.

That said, to justify abortion the basis of absence of pain to the victim is the same as justifying murder of a baby, child, or adult, if they are anesthetized first.

No surprises here. This is the same bunch that medically perceives a baby in the womb as a “parasitic life form.”

Imagine a completely hypothetical situation.

An adult is in a condition that is known to result in complete recovery in about 9 months. The patient requires complete care right now, and cannot feel any pain.

Should there be support to end this burden of care by killing the patient by hacking off the limbs and head?

From the moment of conception, babies in the womb are God’s creation and are as alive as any of us.

So their reasoning goes “inflicting pain on a living creature is bad”
But killing it is OK.

Even if it were true-so what? Killing is OK as long as it doesn’t hurt? Your two year old is on your nerves? Give him a handfull of sleeping pills. He won’t feel a thing, and you will have your peace.

Why would the abortionist care if there is pain or not as the objective is to kill and kill no matter what. The Rat party wants no limitations on their murderous quest!!

I guess hospitals will have more reason than ever to abandon efforts to save the tiniest preemies. Sigh.

Thank goodness, a definitive study, the definitive study. Now we can rest easy. Says the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists - of course they don't feel pain! We should know, we conducted a study! So - go ahead, don't be shy, abort them. /sarc

I spent 4 months in the PICU and NICU of the hospital when our baby was born with only a 10% chance of living. We say so many premies, about one pound, and most all of them lived. It’s a miracle. And they DO feel pain. We watched them and they are uncomfortable when their oxygen levels drop, and they move around a lot. They clearly are every bit as human as us, perhaps even more human than the ‘experts’ who conducted that survey!
